Golden Seamstress Competition
Shoshana won the Novice Division at the Golden Seamstress competition this past weekend.  Mistress Melisant participated as a judge.
 
Ceildagh
Jason, Gregoire and Bjarki attended this event recently. The fighting was good. They had fun.
 
 
 


OLD BUSINESS
 
 
Charity Run, Sat, Oct 2
Recently Galen presented information about a charity run in which the group could participate.
 
Name-Big House Big Heart
Date- Oct 2, 10am
Where- University of Michigan Football Stadium.
Cost- $13/person
Distance- one mile

Baronial Revel, Sun, April 25

In order to reserve the shelter at Island Park on Sunday, April 25, money had to be paid immediately. Tairdelbach used approximately $149.00 of his own funds. He is waiting for the contract.

The Herald has 15 submissions from the Barony for her project.  

 

The Heraldry workshop on Monday was a success.

Grand Tourney
The Washtenaw Farm Council is completely booked for the weekend of Nov 13. 

 

Hannah's church in Livonia is available Nov 20 and Nov 27.  

 

The total site fee is $225.00.  

     Fellowship Hall= $75.00

     Classrooms =$75.00 

     Permission to have alcohol = $75.00.  


The group thinks that Nov 20 the best alternate date.  Even though it is the weekend before Thanksgiving, our guests are local so we should not lose too many people.  If the attendance is lower, we will not lose more money because the site fee is so much less than last year.

 
Livonia will not be adversely affected by the U-M football home game.
 
Seneschal will speak with Roaring Wastes as a courtesy.

We are now booked for Thurs, April 22, 6p-8p. Amyon will present a plan at the next meeting.

Sound System
Hannah is in charge of the silent auction at Terpsichore.  Proceeds will go to help the Singers, Dancers and Musicians purchase a new system.

Baronial Investiture, Sat, March 27


Baronial Investiture-Feast, Hotel, Site
The budget of $1200.00 has been approved by the group.  

    $300.00- site fee.

    $900.00-feast, incidentals and hotel accommodations for Their Highnesses.
 
 
 Baronial Investiture- Lunch Tavern, Royalty Room
A budget proposal of $300.00 is being asked to cover the lunch tavern and Royalty Room Refreshments. Bjarki and crew will take care of both.
The lunch tavern will serve chili and baked potatoes.

Baronial Investiture Bake Sale- Royal Travel Fund
There will be a bake sale at the Baronial Investiture.  The proceeds will be added to the $500.00 proposed as a donation to the Royal Travel Fund.

There are fencers who are interested in fighting at the Investiture.  More info to come.

If you would like to teach a class please contact Jadwiga.  Shoshana will hold a class that will give a visual tour of the Midrealm.  Baron Gregoire will assist in organizing.

Baronial Investiture-Newspaper coverage
The Milan Church has asked if we would like to have newspaper coverage of the event. The local paper is the "Discover Milan News."  Bjarki will follow up with the newspaper and get details on exactly what and how long they want to cover the event. We plan to have a person from the Barony with the journalist at all times.

Dixboro Methodist Church is having a board meeting on March 10 to determine how much to charge Cynnabar for the church.  They have never  had a group request to use the church all day.

The dessert revel is being organized by Magda. Please see the info sent to the list for details.

 

Award recommendations should sent in as soon as possible. This will be the last court for Gregoire and Giovanna as Baron and Baroness of Cynnabar.

 

Bjarki informed the group that he will not be attending Terpsichore.  He said that Jason will be the official representative at Terpsichore.

There is free fabric available to make personal garb.  In return you must make a simple tunic for Gold Key loaner gear.  Melisant can give you instructions for this at a garb day. Please contact her in advance of the day.

Rose Tourney

After some discussion initiated by Baron Gregoire the group decided to try to get the Rose Tourney rescheduled for another weekend.  To have Rose Tourney and Vikings Come Home on the same weekend could be detrimental to Donnershafen. Baron Gregoire will speak to Her Grace Lady Eanor.

The next deadline for the free Ad in the Crazy Wisdom Journal is Wed, March 24 for May-Aug publication.  Amyon will send the old Ad and the proposed new Ad to the list for perusal.
