[Cynnabar] meeting minutes for 5/24/10

Again this was something that Tairdelbach and I discussed after the meeting when it was first brought up (I wasn't at the meeting, so I was naturally bringing up things that I thought were important too!).

I think the recon mission will help lead us in the right direction in the workshop regard. While most restaurants would not be conducive to running workshops some things 'could' still be done at the Corner Brewery if we sat in the right area. If you have never been there, you may not know but this place looks more like someone's basement with left over couches, huge tables, and lots of seating more so, then say, an Applebee's! There are still some workshops that could be conducted -- hand crafts, lectures, and the like. It still might be possible.

Also, as a reminder, restaurants are not the greatest venues for workshops. Not that anyone's been coming to them lately...

Obviously there will be some outlying people like myself (Milan), Uillec & Ilse (Dexter), and Her Excellency Hannah (Livonia), but if most people are in, say, Ypsilanti, then it TOTALLY makes sense to have meetings there. Conversely, if most people are on, say, the North Side, then we should hunt in that region.

>>After the meeting on Monday (hearing about the suggestion from Tairdelbach) we had thought that would be a good idea to recon -- and of course, sample as well. I don't think that this coming Monday would tell you much about what it would be on a regular "Monday" though considering the holiday. Unless, that is, of course you are just looking at the space and to sample the other benefits of meeting there!

>>Unfortunately Tairdelbach and I are practically already triple booked for Monday right now. Let us know how it goes.
