Looking for wool in all the wrong places? Fashion Fabrics Club has their wools on sale, the suitings (good for most garb, though try to avoid the ones described as "lightweight" unless you want something really thin) for $8.95/yard and the coatings (good for heavy garb, cloaks, etc.) for $11.95/yard.

You do sometimes take your chances with FFC as far as things really being 100% wool, but you can return fabric (as long as it's uncut and unwashed) within 30 days for a full refund if you're not happy.
