[Cynnabar] Cynnabar archery: mid-June update

Unto the Populace of Cynnabar, Archers and Arbalestiers, Hail!

T
he Cynnabar Archery Website was updated this afternoon with events coming
up in the next month or so:  Baron Wars, June 22  (Barony of Red Spears)
http://www.midrealm.org/marshes/BWarchery.htm ; Smurf Shoot, July 7 (Riding
of Hawkland Moor), and our annual Saline Celtic Festival demo on July 13.

The Celtic Festival is always a good outreach opportunity to people who are
more familiar with compound bows and Olympic archery tackle rather than how
we do it, the "traditional" way, including our hand-assembled arrows.  The
appearance of armor-piercing bodkin points as part of "show and tell"
usually always gets a "WHOOOAAA!" as we describe flights of these angry
iron bees raining down at Crecy or Agincourt.

And also on the Archery Website, something new this year:  your Archery
Marshals are going to WAR!  Lady Aeffe and I will be attending the Pennsic
War this year (barring unforeseen circumstances), and we are readying our
kit.  (At this moment a Viking bed is half-assembled in my basement, two
Viking benches have displaced my kitchen chairs, and I know not what else
may be in store!)  We have been discussing with Her Excellency Baroness
Cynnabar the possibility of Cynnabar archers and arbalestiers processing
out together for the Populace War Point sometime on Tuesday, July 27.   We
look forward to the honor of serving with you at the Line.

PLEASE NOTE!  IF IF IF you need a string or arrows, or arrows re-tipped, or
etc.,  now is the time to schedule those tasks!  Email me or PM me on
Facebook, or come to a Business Meeting: Their Excellencies' Barony has
immediate  resources to help you maintain your archery tackle.

Lady Aeffe and I plan on being at  Baron Wars this coming weekend.  We hope
to "shake down" our Pennsic camping protocol (MINUS last year's storms,
please) there -- come find us at the Range on Saturday!
