[Cynnabar] What a Grand Day ....of tournaments!

I have nothing but praise for the tournaments I witnessed yesterday. It was
stunning to see how many came from afar to participate, and delightful to
see that everyone who came got so many meaningful combats with such a
variety of opponents inb such a short space of time. This is a great credit
to the tireless and patient marshals and heralds who kept it going and kept
it light apart from the sheer weight of prowess displayed.

My sole regret is that I did not feel able to participate beyond this small
witness and praise.

Unto Their Excellencies Cynnabar and Their Most Distinguished Populace,
hail!
I want to apologize to everyone involved with the planning and staging of A
Grand Day of Tournaments at the Barony of Cynnabar for not having the
presence of mind at Court last evening to say what absolutely must be said,
and should have been said in the Royal Presence:
 
For there to be a grand day of TOURNAMENTS the Marshals-in-Charge must
devise ahead of time ­ by months! ­ the structures of the tournaments they
wish to offer participants.  They then must be on hand to set their
respective lists and ranges up and monitor the safety and conduct and timing
of the tournaments throughout the event.  Marshaling is day-long martial
³performance art.² 
This was the commitment and triumph of Sir Gregoire de Lyon, Lord Galen o¹
Conaill, and Forester Grey Oddson, at Cynnabar¹s grand day yesterday.
Similarly:
It is said that armies throughout history ³travel on their stomachs.²  They
also fight and live or die by the quality of their material sustenance.  It
is exactly the same for events!  And the martial victory in this list goes
to Mistress Arina fra Traentorp who *sold out* her lunch tavern save for two
portions of stew.
 
And I apologize again for not standing up in Court and making clear my most
heartfelt gratitude not to these notables alone, but to all who have done so
much to make the day as grand as it was.
