[Cynnabar] BoC Meeting Minutes 06/09/14 meeting

Event and Demo Reports

 

Saxons - Absolute hoot! Highly recommended for archery and thrown weapons. 

 

NOWM - Much fighting. Good time. Classes were good as well.

 

Quest - Daye got a florentine lesson. Very chill event, reminded of
old-school events. Very fun!

 

Squire's Revolt - Fun little event. Our own Duke Sir Dag one the bear pit
tourney with other Cynnabar fighters showing well in the other tourneys.

 

Garb Workday - Had fun. Work done.

 

Newcomers workshop - 2 new people, one a transplant.

 

Upcoming Baronial Events and Demos

 

Saline Celtic Festival (July 11th and 12th) - We have insurance. Look for
e-mails/posting for more info.

 

Grand Day of Tournament (Nov. 15th, 2014) - Looking for more staff and
reviewing planning documents.

New Business

 

Group Knight Marshal - Lord Gregor has offered himself as replacement for
Baron Jason as your next Group Knight Marshal. He says he is looking to
contribute back to the barony. He was asked if he has room to store the
loner gear (he does) and if he plans to be at practices (he does). All
positive feedback. This was the 1st of our three meeting discussion/approval
process.

 

Capital budget item: Archery Backdrop proposal ($525) - Forester Grey
proposed for the barony to purchase archery netting (and supplies to put it
up) which will allow the barony to have archery in many more locations (such
as the Saline Celtic fest) where we could not before. Archery is a great
first hands-on activity that can help draw people into the SCA. Discussion
was had and all seemed positive. This was the 1st of our three meeting
discussion/approval process.

 

Budget item: Flyers and fighter food for Saline Celtic fest demo ($75) -
Genoveva is asking for $75 to buy drinks and fighter food/snacks as well as
making flyers for the Saline Celtic fest demo. All positive feedback. This
was the 1st of our three meeting discussion/approval process.

 

Demo support: Kerrytown Kindle Fest Demo (normally 1st week in December) -
Mistress Arin wanted to know if the Barony would want to support a
recruiting demo at the Kerrytown Kindle Fest. Good feedback and the group
seemed this would be a good thing to do. This was the 1st of our three
meeting discussion/approval process.

 

Announcements

 

Forrester Gray - The day after Baron Wars on Sunday the 22nd, Erik Erikson
will be running an 8 hour becoming a combat archery marshal course at
Liberty School in Saline.

 

Sir Straum - Register for Pennsic! Cynnabar camp fees are $25/person or
$55/family.  The wagon was also ordered.

 

Johannes - No Heraldry In July.

 

Ermenrich - Articles for Citadel are due next week

 

HE Hannah - If interested in camping and/or potluck at Baron Wars, HE Hannah
is unable to run it this year, so if you want to coordinate, please see her.

 

Godaeth - Archery website update with schedules. She also rescinded her
leave of absence and would like to extend her position as Group Archery
Marshal another year.

 

Finn - With the meeting on the 23rd being replaced by the first Q&A Session,
Baronial Officer reports will be next meeting on the 16th. Also, we can
still have a shortened meeting to wrap up any business items that need
addressing.
