Center Room, Pierpont Commons.  Workshops 6:30 to 7:15. _6_ attendees

Meeting 7:30- 8:30.  _ 9_ attendees.

*Workshop Topics:*  Tonight was* "The Silver Lining in the Dark Ages, or,
How Pennies Saved Civilization" by Lady Godaeth.  *You missed a good one.  We
handled coins from a 1000 year range.

·         Please join us at 6:30 for an interesting topic before each
meeting.

·         Please tell Baroness Hannah Schreiber at dawnlsinclair at gmail.com if
you would like to present a workshop.  All topics are of interest.

*April 18 - Kumihimo Braiding with Lady Terryl*.  Try the Japanese art of
Kumohimo braiding. Learn history of the art and techniques. Class will be
hands-on, for 12 people.  Arrive on time to get your materials!

April 25 - *Trans/Intersex/Third Gender in SCA discussion lead by Draco. F*irst
half hour is a presentation of what Transgender/sexual, Intersex, and Third
Gender are, examples in medieval times, and how focusing on minorities
(racial, sexual, and gender) can improve recruitment and retention in the
SCA. Second half hour will be a discussion on the themes and ideas
presented in the first portion.

BOOK CLUB!  What shall we discuss next?  Are we ready to read one book and
talk about it?  Kay will put this up on Facebook, too.

*Activity, Event & Demo Reports*

Much discussion of divers topics, but most of those notes are in among the
agenda items.

The *Scribal Workshop* on Saturday was a big success.  1= to 12 people came
across the course of the day.  3 Scroll blanks were created at Maker Works
in Ann Arbor  A majority of people stayed all day.  It was reportedly
chilly, but fun.

*Upcoming Baronial Events and Demos Upcoming Baronial Events and Demos*

*Spring Revel 2016* *April 17, 2016* Island Park Far Shelter.  Eadræd (MKA
Michael) Budget $250.

·          *Bring your own Grill if you wish.*  Only one on site.

o   Do plan to remove your ashes if you bring a grill.  Kay advises a
double lining of tinfoil under the charcoal and a metal bucket to take them
home.

·         Eadræd will ask to have the electricity turned on.  I have asked
him to send out an announcement if he is able to get this for us.

·         If you can do an online general SCA photo release please do.  Bring
it with you for Gavriil’s files.

*Spring Yard Sale to raise money for New Member Activities*:  At Spring
Revel

·         Let Ceara know if you have donations but cannot attend.  She can
bring them IF you let her know quickly.

·         We might need some extra tables for the Yard Sale.  If you can
bring one for your items please do.

*St. Cecilia at the Tower (Sat April 30- Sun May 1, 2016)* St Paul United
Church of Christ, Saline, MI Mistress Jadwiga is event steward.  Budget
$400. Break even 67 Adults.

·          Anderson Rooms are booked for Sun May 1. Advanced Classes and
Guided Playing will be the activities that day.

·         Please! Let Aaron and Jadwiga know if you are able to host out of
town guests for crash space.

·         BAKESALE!



*Celtic Festival (Saturday July 9, 2016)* Saline Michigan. Baron
Tairdelbach. Budget >$100 Sports drinks, snacks.

·          No Update on the snacks, but…

·         Daye is planning a *Fashion Show of Celtic Dress*.  If you have
Irish, Scottish, Breton, Welsh, or other Celtic period appropriate clothing
please contact her. She already has one or two people with excellent kit
who are prepared to model their clothing.

·         Enthusiastic discussion of other things that could be done on the
list field during times between bouts.  *Dancing by whoever is available to
simple instrument like a flute, recorder or penny whistle seems to be worth
planning.*

o   Kay realizes this morning that Concern about having people to teach the
audience to dance could perhaps be solved by only doing ring dances or
other very simple partner dances.  A person confident enough to dance a
*bransle* can guide one other person hand in hand.

o   *Could we agree on a goal of getting people out on the field and
moving, to have a physical experience? *Lets discuss!

*Grand Day of Tournaments 2016 (Sat Nov 5, 2016)* Liberty School, Ann Arbor
Saline Road, Saline, MI. Ms. Giovanna Steward. Budget $1735. Breakeven 174.

·         Contract is in!

·         Hotel block is being set-up as we speak! (Hampton Inn, Ann Arbor)

·         There will be a How to Run Gate workshop on May 9th (Aelfric,
Ilse and Giovanna)!

·         I will be holding a staff meeting in the next month or so.

·         Theme:  Gaming in our Period

·         Site:  Hidden Springs Church, Howell.  Site cost still being
researched.  It may be a cost per person attending ($4?)* Hopefully now
that Easter season is over there will be news.*

·         Plan to purchase 4 pairs of Gingher fabric shears (unless another
item is more useful).

·         We will consult Ms. Mellisant.

·         A donation from one Non Profit to another is allowed by our
Corpora.

*Terpsichore at the Tower Report (March 5, 2016) *

·         Attendance:  136 adults, 9 children

·         Profit: Sizable, but still changing as final accounting goes on

·          Please turn in any outstanding receipts.

·         Ceara is creating an “after action” report.

*Baronial Trailer* Budget $3500-$3950       Black, 5’x12’x6’ single axle
covered, lights, hitch kit.

·         *Delivery:  It is here. *

·         *The price of the trailer did not include plywood lining for the
body.  *This is in the planning stage and that surface will also be covered
with vinyl flooring material to make it extra sturdy and resistant to bumps
and dings.

·         *Sir Dag is reported to be working on designs for Decals for the
outside.*  A Tower?  An Elephant?  Certainly our web address in case people
are overcome with the need to knowmore about the Barony after seeing this
chariot on the road.

o   *This may need to be budgeted seperatly, depenging on how far the
current funding will go.*

·         *Registration & Insurance:*  Day offered to go get State
Registration and plates done. Kay will send to SCA Inc for insurance.

*Stickers with the Baronial Populace Badge* (and maybe name?) $60-100

·         This was Tabled in 1/2016, until Terpsichore costs are known

·         Ermenrich will consult their Highnesses to see what they need.  It
may be Travel, it may be a project.

Do we want to start a new T Shirt Order?  Kasha will have a signup sheet
for those who might be interested at Spring Revel.  The Barony owns the
silk screens, and we can print as many as we want. Kay is in!
