*Workshop Topics:* Tonight was: *Butter Making with Lord Alexander*.

you would like to present a workshop. All topics are of interest.

Sept 12 *Book binding basics with Lady Terryl.* Hands on! Basic book
binding class; shows some of the techniques involved. We'll talk about how
it's done differently in different times and places. Please show up on
time. Tell Lady Terryl via the Facebook if you will participate so she
knows how much supplies to bring.

*Upcoming Baronial Events and Demos*

*Canton Public Library Demo*:  Sunday October 23, 2016 tentatively 1-3 pm.

·         Demo leaders: *Eidy & Ceara*

·         We MUST get details to Amelia ASAP.  The Library has to publish
this event within 3 weeks.

·         Leaders of demo will tour site, see if and where combat
activities could happen.

·         Amelia (Librarian) requesting  a mix of activities: Dance, Art &
Science Activities and display, Martial Arts display and demo if room
allows, Music performance, even a parade through the library to attract
attention at the start… really up to those who can come and work.

·         Attendees would be families.

*Grand Day of Tournaments 2016 (Sat Nov 5, 2016)* Liberty School, Ann Arbor
Saline Road, Saline, MI. Ms. Giovanna Steward. Budget $1735. Breakeven 174.

·         Planning is in good shape. Currently working on Gym set up, and
finding another room for Youth Combat.  Hoping for great weather again so
that could be outside.

·         Their Highnesses say they will not attend, but any new Heirs
might.

·         Royal space might serve a vigil area for Lady Azrael, who will
sit a vigil for her MOD.

·         Voice Heraldry: Eadraed and Johannes are looking to create a
point where one can get a Herald to announce you. “Herald 5 Cents” banner
discussed.

·         Ilse is planning a proposal for the Lunch Tavern.  It will appear
as New Business when she is ready.

·         Thrown Weapons will definitely have an Atlatl Battle. Grey is
seeking Loaner Straw Bales for that to reduce costs. He has also gotten a
partial in-kind donation for the Atlatl Prize from the store that carries
the equipment

·         Prizes:  If you are planning on Making something as a Prize
Mistress Kasha urges you to start Now.

·         We need Prizes.  Consult Their Excellencies if you have questions.

*Ann Arbor Christian School Demo Thursday Dec 8, 2016. ADDRESS,
COORDINATOR.*

·         This demo needs Dancers and Fighters and Musicians and Singers.

*Old Business*

*Custom designed Coins for Grand Day of Tournaments Betting Game*. Master
Derian le Breton the Coiner $120-150. 2nd of 3 meetings

Derian would like to strike 6000 coins, with a Cynnabar themed obverse and
possible special reverse.  He will donate his time, labor and materials to
create the dies. Material for the coins themselves would cost about $120.  The
least expensive blanks are aluminum, $20/ 1000 blanks for a total cost to
the Barony of $120-$150. (Kay added fudge factor/ shipping expenses)

*Officer vacancies to be filled:*

Chatelaine – Applicant: Eidy

·         Eidy is invited to send a Society resume and statement of what
she wants to do with the office when she is ready.  She works Monday
nights.

Minister of Youth –

*Tower’s Foundation Medallions* – there were not any given out at Court at
Pennsic.

*Baronial Trailer* *Budget $3500-$3950* Wood lining in process. The trailer
did not go to Pennsic.

 * New Gloves for Rapier Practice and Training Lady Birke. $120 *6 pair
gloves at $20/ pair.  Purchase will be 2 small, 2 medium, and 3 large
cuffed gloves. Kay will check with Birke to see if this is completed.

 *Announcements* & Group Discussion

 Do we have Fall Revel date yet?  No.  It depends on the Mass Meeting.  It
will not be at Closing of the Range, but rather close to the Mass Meeting
date to attract newcomers

·         September 18th is the deadline for Baroness Hannah's Scroll blank
challenge.

·         Aeffe and Mstrs. Giovanna are planning an Arts and Sciences
competition for GDoT with the theme of "Tournaments"!  We are inviting
tournament-related entries in any medium.  Please contact Aeffe if you have
questions.  More info will appear on the event website soon.

Min. Youth (OPEN) –

Chatelaine (Daege) –

·         Hattie learned that Festifall Tables have sold out already.  The
Tabletop Gaming Club has offered her a chair at their table.

·         Mass Meeting Date?  Not yet. The Fall Revel as A Newcomer
Revel.  Looking
at dates in later September or early October. A Sunday to avoid Football?
Kay is willing to book the park shelter at Island Park.

·         News of Ann Arbor Christian Academy Demo is in Event & Demos

·         New Member Contacts: A former EMU student of Baroness Ute’s has
been in touch.  A young lady of the Barony of Ayerton camped with Starry
Knights at Pennsic. It was her first event…

Chronicler (Gavriil) – No report, but some discussion of when we expect the
issue that had a July 3 Deadline.

Herald (Johannes, Incoming Eadraed) – Eadraed reporting. His Change of
Officer Form ready for signatures. Scribal and Heraldic First Monday
gatherings will continue, thanks to Tairdelbach and Hannah’s hospitality.
He is collecting experts in various heraldic related areas. He has created
a Google site to share information from the Midrealm. Eadraed attended
several Heraldic classes at Pennsic.

Knight Marshal (Gregor) – Not much action at Practice lately.  The
Transition to the Union will happen in October.  Zygmunt will be taking
over the Knight Marshall position at a time to be determined.

Group Marshal for Archery (Godaeth) –

#1.  Forester Dillon’s archery range is CLOSED.  Next practice (weather
permitting) on Sunday Sept. 11, 2016, usual time.

#2.  Reign of Arrows & Schutzenfest will stage Saturday, Sept. 10, 2016 at
Stormvale.  All archers are encouraged to attend!

#3.  Call of the Waterhorse:  stages this weekend near Oscoda.

#4.  GM position:  search postponed *indefinitely.*

#5.  Closing of the Range:  Sunday Oct. 30, 2016, Details under discussion.

Seneschal (Kay) – This was a peaceful month. “Almost as if everyone had
been away,” said Ermenrich. My next Quarterly report is due Aug 30th. I
will start it as soon as these notes go out!

Baron and Baroness (Kasha and Ermenrich) –

Their Excellencies reviewed some changes to the Office of Chatelaine
Kingdom with Ms Giovanna’s input.  Chatelaine is a Great Officer of State
now. There is a new Marketing Plan, goals to think about.  Groups are asked
to look at their web pages for Newcomer Accessibility.  Cynnabar is always
good in that way. Please put things up on our web pages as well as on
Facebook.  Facebook is not accessible to people who are not members of the
group.

Pennsic was very successful.  A lot of time and effort was put in to the
event by Cynnabar, both in the smooth running of camp and the War as a
whole. Ermenrich heard us called “A Barony of Doers. Though there was “A
Three Hour Court…” [to the tune of Gilligan’s Island.]

Fall will be busy.

We are still a Barony!
