Center Room, Pierpont Commons.  Workshops 6:30 to 7:15. _10 participants, 4
observers_ attendees

Meeting 7:30- 8:30.  _24_ attendees.  WOW!

*Workshop Topics:*  Tonight was *An Introduction to Scribal Arts by
Baroness Hannah.*

·         Please join us at 6:30 for an interesting topic before each
meeting.

·         Please tell *Baroness Hannah* if you would like to present a
workshop.  All topics are of interest.

*March 21 - Early period embroidery make-n-take with Lady Aeffe*.  Spend an
hour learning basic stitches,  take home everything to finish a small
embroidered fabric pouch. Materials provided.

*March 28 - Good books for …Cooking**! by Lady Daye & Ms. Kay*. *Book Club*
focuses on period cooking. Please bring a short list of your favorite food
related books. Discussion is Round Robin format.

*April 11 - "The Silver Lining in the Dark Ages, or, How Pennies Saved
Civilization" by Lady Godaeth. *More info to come.

*Activity, Event & Demo Reports*

*Terpsichore at the Tower Report (March 5, 2016) *

·         Attendance:  136 adults, 9 children

·         Profit/ Loss:  Not certain yet, still some receipts outstanding.

Ceara says: Great Event.  Great set up crew! Lots of volunteers.  Day was
smooth.  Awesome food. (Agreement from the members.) Ceara plans a survey
about the Lunch Tavern.

*Sunday 3/6 Combat Practice:  *The monthly tournament went well.

*Upcoming Baronial Events and Demos Upcoming Baronial Events and Demos*

*St. Cecilia at the Tower (Sat April 30- Sun May 1, 2016)* St Paul United
Church of Christ, Saline, MI Mistress Jadwiga is event steward.  Budget
$400. Break even 67 Adults.

·         Opera Planning is underway.  Class roster almost full!

·         The Donation policy has changed at the Society level.  There will
be NO posted recommended donation.

·         This means a Non Member Surcharge does not need to be collected

*Spring Revel 2016* *April 17, 2016* Island Park Far Shelter.  Eadræd (MKA
Michael) Budget $250. 2nd of 3 meetings.

·         Budget $137 for site, plus $25 for *Liquor permissions*, $88
Incidentals

·         Island Park New Shelter and Beer/ Wine Permit is paid for, by Kay

·         Schedule will be on the website;

o   Fighting 12-2,

o   Tournaments 2-4,

o   then Photo,

o   Court,

o    and Dinner.

·         Youth Activity Ideas:  Got any?  Tell Eadard what you would like
to do.

o   Alexander has one.

·         Aaron will organize Photo Releases if you need a paper one
onsite.

*Yard Sale to raise money for New Member Activities*:  Bring any donations
to *Spring Revel* that may be sold to raise money for that purpose.  I’ve
got a lot of books, for example.

*Grand Day of Tournaments 2016 (Sat Nov 5, 2016)* Liberty School, Ann Arbor
Saline Road, Saline, MI. Ms. Giovanna Steward. Budget $1735. Breakeven 174.

·         Event is approved and planning is underway.

·         A short meeting was held at Terpsichore to get things started.

·         Anne plans to pay for the site this week.



*Old Business*

*Search for Minster of Youth Office* – On going.

*Search for Cynnabar Pursuivant* – On going.  2 candidates. Reviewing them
with Their Excellencies.

*Search for Knights Marshall-* On going.  2 potential candidates.

*50 Year Celebration (June 17- June 2016)* Hendricks County 4-H Fairgrounds
1600 Main St. Danville, IN.

·         Kasha and Ermenrich will attend the second weekend.

·         They do not plan a Court.

*New Tubs for Gold Key Budget= $20* *CHANGED from $250*  Daye 2nd of 3
meetings

                MORE information.  What tote is being considered: A clear
plastic model.  How much is each: about $6.00 How many are wanted: Two each.

*Celtic Festival (Saturday July 9, 2016)* Saline Michigan. Baron
Tairdelbach. Budget >$100 for Sports Drinks and Snacks for fighters/
demonstrators. 3nd of 3 meetings

·         No questions, no debate. Approved.



*New Business*

*Pentemere 12th Night Jan 7, 2017. THL Ceara *Hidden Springs Church,
Howell *Budget
$2700* Breakeven: 170(approx)* 1st* of 3 meetings

·         Ceara has submitted a bid.

·         Theme:  Gaming in our Period

·         Site:  Hidden Springs Church, Howell.  Site cost still being
researched.  It may be a cost per person attending ($4?)

·         SEE attached Proposal, if I get an electronic copy by 8 am
Thursday.

*Gift for Eastern Michigan Costume Shop, as thanks for access.*  *Lord
Uillec* *Budget $200* 1st of 3 Meetings

Plan to purchase 4 pairs of Gingher fabric shears (unless another item is
more useful).  We will consult Ms. Mellisant.

This is OK because it is a donation from one Non Profit to another.



*Status check on Approved Budget Items:  *

*Baronial Trailer* Budget $3500-$3950       Black, 5’x12’x6’ single axle
covered, lights, hitch kit.

·         *Registration & Insurance:* In Process

·         Kay needs empty weight of trailer, bill of sale, any docs we get,
etc.  She will get State Registration and send to SCA Inc for insurance.

*Royal Travel Fund Donation**  Ermenrich 10% of treasury, about $1000 *

·         *Tabled to 4/2016, until Terpsichore costs are known @ 2nd of 3
Meetings*

*Baronial Champions* for several posts will be announced at Spring Revel
(if they assent to the positions).



*Announcements:*

*The Role of Arms project* is being resurrected.  Images of your heraldry
that were submitted for that project will appear on your Order of
Precedence page.  If you did not have arms in that project you can put your
device on your page.

*Pentemere Regional Arts and Sciences Faire entries must be registered by
Saturday March 19th*.  If you plan to enter fill out the forms on the
Kingdom A&S pages.  Thanks to Baroness Hannah for this information.

*Book Club* has been suggested to be held *quarterly on the last Monday
meeting of the month*. A different topic will be chosen each time. Please
pass along suggestions to Mistress Kay or Lady Daye as you have them.



*Other Group Discussion*

*Raising Funds to cover Non Member Surcharges.*  Sir Gregoire plans a Bake
Sale at St Cecilia to collect money to pay for any Non Member
surcharges.  Contact
Greg Less for more information.

The Chatelaine’s office is able to hold any extra funds to benefit non
member attendees at future events.

Please Donate!  Kay commits to a sweet yeast bread of some sort.

*Arrow Order:  *The last call for a group order of arrow shafts.  Arrow
dipping and some shooting will happen at Kay’s when the weather warms up.  SEE
Forester Gray ASAP if you need arrows.

*How can Cynnabar be more gender aware and inclusive?* Draco is researching
and preparing a presentation on period gender identification and pronoun
variations. Plans to present it as a workshop here in June, as a dress
rehearsal for a class at Pennsic. Draco is contacting other SCA groups to
see what information she can get and they might need.

Aaron added a space on the Order of Precedence for preferred pronouns and
perhaps gender identity. This will help the Baron and Baroness and any who
write award recommendations to get titles right.

This was an idea that evoked strong feelings and opinions.  Thank you to
everyone for their thoughtful words.
