*Workshop Topics:* Tonight’s workshop was *Running a Tournament List with
Mistress Claire.*

*Oct 17 Archery Kit* *with Forrester Grey.         *Archery for the
non-archer will be a short discussion of the basics of SCA archery. Topics
to be covered: 1) gear selection with a variety of bows to try for fit. 2)
how an SCA archery line runs, 3) What to expect at an SCA archery event 4)
questions and answers.

*Oct 24** Good Books** for Medievalists lead**: The Return of Martin
Guerre, by Natalie Zemon Davis **led by Kay**.*

·         Set Up will start Friday 11/4, after 9 pm in the Gym.  Access to
Cafeteria and Halls will be earlier.

·         Thrown Weapons plan is made, Grey reports.  If weather is cold or
wet they plan o take breaks.

·         Sample Coins were shown!  One Face is the Cynnabar Arms and
“Cynnabar City” (as I recall the Latin.) One face is an E for Baron
Ermenrich, and the last will be a K for Baroness Kasha, both with the name
and title in the boarder. Reverses are Master Derian’s Mint’s sigil.

*Proposal to Revise the Cynnabar Financial Policy. Baron Ermenrich, $250

Draft Wording of the proposed revision:

The Exchequer will annually in August restock the University of Michigan
Student Organization Account with $250, until usage indicates we change the
amount, frequency or account in which funds are kept.

·         This proposal would make this a standard activity.

·         Some discussion of the need to keep better records of how this
money is spent on a monthly basis.  The Student Organization Account record
is very vague; just dates of postings and UM financial codes.  No date of
room or equipment use.

·         Kay could look up the codes for the past year’s expenditures, if
desired. Will consult Heidi.

*St Cecelia at the Tower VI*. *Mistress Jadzia **Saturday May 13, 2017 *St.
Paul’s UCC, Saline, MI.* Sunday May 14, 2017 - *Michigan Union Anderson
Rooms.* 2nd of 3 meetings*

·         There are calendar conflicts to be worked out.  Siege of
Talonvale is already on the calendar for the same date. Other dates are
busy, too.

·         Those present think we should not make a decision on funding this
event until date is better settled. This CAN be tabled for a week.

·         Please come Monday 10/17 and 10/24. to help make this decision.

*Restock the Chatelaine Box with Cards and Brochures. $75 Lady Daye. 2nd of
3 meetings*

·         We are below 20 copies.

·         A single panel Brochure advertising Terpsichore at the Tower has
been created to

put out at Time Traveler’s Ball.

4.      Deputy Seneschal (Drop Dead) – This can be a track to becoming the

*Elephant’s Heart Medallions* – Pieces will be ready for the next baronial
courts, at Closing of the Range and Grand Day of Tournaments.

*Baronial Trailer* *Budget $3500-$3950* Wood lining in process.

*New Gloves for Rapier Practice and Training Lady Birke. $120 *6 pair
gloves at $20/ pair.  Purchase will be 2 small, 2 medium, and 3 large
cuffed gloves. Per Ermenrich purchase is done, and 6 pair came to $69.92.

*Custom designed Coins for Grand Day of Tournaments Betting Game*. Master
Derian le Breton the Coiner $120-150. *Master Derian is striking
coins*.  Samples
were shown.  Very impressive. Contact him is you wish to help.

*Rent a Handicap Porta John for use at Closing of the Range, Baronial
Archery Marshal Godaeth, $150.  *Will be ordered week before event.

*GDoT Lunch Tavern,* Lady Ilse $600. MOVED to GDoT in Events.

*Replenishing the Student Organization Account. $200.*

Kay will walk a check to SOAS or pass to Hattie when she and Heidi can meet.

*Registering the Baronial Awards and Order Names and Badges. *Mistress

*Announcements** & Group Discussion*

Kay needs a Moderator for the 10/17 meeting, so she can travel to visit
Dan. Godaeth has volunteered.

December Schedule should be discussed 10/17 and 24. We will need to have
all business for 12th night done by Dec 19th. NOTE that the University is
closed after 12/23.  We will not be able to use Pierpont on 12/26.

Will there be a gift exchange?  When?  Where?  Much discussion…

Tristan was in town for a bit and he has changed the signers on the Post
Office Box at the Stadium station to include Kay. He says, “Hi!” to
everyone.

Roads are a mess in Saline.  Best route to Grand Day will be in the back
way off Maple road and through the school parking lots. Ann Arbor Saline is
completely closed at one spot right now.

Does anyone know where Grey can use a Vinyl Cutter?  Print shops were
suggested.

*Words of Their Excellencies* -

Lots coming up in the next few weeks.  There will Tourneys at Closing of
the Range, and a Court and announcement of new Archer Champion.

Please prepare your prizes for Grand Day of Tournaments.
