the old information.  There will be NO BUSINESS MEETING on Monday 8/14/17.

"Attention Cynnabar! We have been invited back to the Canton Public Library
to present a demo of all things SCA. Some of you may remember last year's
demo, with fencing and armored fighting, coin striking, and arts all being
represented. Afterwards, we went out to eat as a group. Since meeting was
canceled for this evening, I'd like to propose to the populace through this
"magic scroll" called Facebook the date of Sept. 17th from 1-4 pm. All who
are willing to participate and assist in advancing the education of the
mundane and promoting the medieval, please comment below. Include your
specialty or topic for presenting if known. Specifically interested in
fighters (it's a small space, so we only need 4-6), marshals, dancers,
musicians, and anyone with a portable craft. Also, I may have convinced the
site to allow a thrown weapons demo if teachers are available. I'd like to
get a handful of people committed to the cause by tomorrow so I can alert
my boss that we can take the spot. Thank you in advance."

We will be back at the Sidetrack bar and grill in Ypsilanti for our
remaining business meetings in August.  I had intended for us to return to
Ann Arbor this month, but we are unable to book Pierpont commons (we are
out of reservations for the summer).  We are also investigating a church
near Stadium and Washtenaw, but they have not been able to get back to us
yet.

Does anyone have a folding camp cot they would plan me to test for a
weekend? I am considering buying one but want to see how I like it.
I will come anywhere in the Barony to pick it up. My hope is to have it by
this Thursday night Aug. 30. I am going to Mounted War Games.

topics and to share your ideas in this fun, creative, many-faceted aspect

*Potential new Ann Arbor location for business meetings.*  Fairfax
recommends the Journey of Faith church, located at 1900 Manchester Rd, Ann
Arbor, MI (Near Washtenaw and E Stadium).  This site has a kitchen
available, and the room we could use is about three times the size of the
upstairs room in Sidetrack.  The site has a real elevator inside, and 30 or
40 parking spots available in church parking lot.  There is a bus stop a
two minute walk away.

We propose to offer the following arrangement in exchange for a meeting
site for September ? December:

?         $250 payment to purchase supplies for hygiene bags (toilet paper,
toothbrushes, etc)for needy folks

?         One pre-meeting workshop per month dedicated to filling bags with
supplies

?         Target of 150 bags filled by the Barony with supplies provided by
the church by the end of the year

?         Collect supplies (non-perishable food, hygiene supplies, school
supplies) at Cook?s Symposium and Grand Day of Tournaments

being an event steward.

Title: Armored Combat Practice
Thursday night Baronial practice is going to try out a new venue this  
evening. The parking is a little better, the bathrooms are a little closer,  
and there is more foot traffic (passive recruitment oppertunity). The  
address is 2025 East Clark Rd, Ypsilanti MI. That address is actually the  
Township community center, but we will be at the park directly across the  
street, which doesnt seem to have an address.

Hello, Barony!

This is just a reminder that it's not too early to start thinking about
what kind of prizes you'd like to donate for Grand Day of Tournaments on
November 4! Traditionally, the event has been known for its generous,
high-quality prizes, and we'd like to continue that this year.

If you know what you're going to donate, please email me or Ermenrich so we
can have an idea of what people are planning.
