[Cynnabar] Dessert Auction at Wassail this weekend!

Hello to the Barony and friends of the group!

A note if you have not seen the posts on social media about the dessert
auction at this weekend's Wassail event. Reminder the event is held on a
Sunday this year!

Calling all cooks -- and those who love to eat! Once again we will have the
opportunity to make something VERY VERY special for Wassail (Held on Dec.
2) -- in the form of our annual dessert auction! This year we will be
running this as a silent auction-style -- so please be sure to get there
and bid-bid-bid!

You can participate in 2 ways -- by entering OR buying!!!

TO ENTER: Bring your entry to Wassail to be auctioned off. All entries
should be on-site as soon as possible the day of the event. (Site opens at
2 pm) There are NO limitations on theme, ingredients, or size. Ideally, it
would be a dessert, but you’ll only limited by your own creativity. You can
make whatever you think will bring in the MOST money! I suggest putting the
entry on a plate or dish that you do not plan on getting returned, and
including a list of ingredients.

BIDDERS: As entries arrive they will be placed on the silent auction table.
Everyone is welcome to bid on the desserts. The Silent auction will close
just BEFORE dinner and the highest bidder will be awarded the dessert!
(Please bring cash or checks to bid, money will be collected the day of the
event). Auctioned off desserts may be consumed however the highest biding
winner wishes. This includes taking it all home to eat themselves; sharing
with their own table; or placing the items back onto the potluck buffet
table for everyone to enjoy. The donations will go towards the "Friend of
the Barony Scholarship Fund" which is a privately held, non-SCA/Baronial
fund, that helps pay the NMS fees for non-members, visitors, and potential
new members at our local events.

HOW TO WIN THE CONTEST: Easy….the one who gets the MOST MONEY for their
entry...wins! The Winner will get the right to help with the contest the
following year and have ALL bragging rights as the winner!
