[Cynnabar] Spring Revel 2024

[Cynnabar Baronage via Barony]

Greetings to the Barony!

We would like to document the event of Spring Revel that took place April
21 at Island Park.  The weather was clear and started chilly, but it warmed
throughout the day.  THL Ceara ran a yard sale that was well stocked and
well attended by several newcomers. There were three rapier combatants,
including THL Throckmorton, THL Galen, and Warder Kata.  The armored
tournament was attended by both Baronial fighters and visiting fighters.
Duke Dag was victorious, winning the final round against Sir Charles.

Gate had a total tally of 29 members and 13 non members!  We were excited
to see some new people who moved to Michigan from Arizona where they
participated in the SCA, and they brought friends! Since Spring Revel, they
have already been to a fight practice!

Court Business:
We recognized people for whom it was their first event.
Lady Caryn stepped down as archery champion.
We offered for anyone present to swear fealty.
Sir Gregoire was made our A&S champion.
HE Bjarki stated the intention of the armored militia to attend Athelmarc
War Practice, Black Swamp War Games, Baronial Border Wars, Pennsic War, and
Vikings Come Home.

Thank you to the various people who helped throughout the day:  Sir Charles
and THL Throckmorton for being MiC for our martial combatants; Sir Jasen
and Lady Beth for bringing extra Gold Key items for the yard sale, and
marshaling; THL Asa for being our herald and helping us set up; Sir
Gregoire for helping with the tournament; THL Diamante for running gate;
Forester Godhit for being our Event Steward; THL Throckmorton for manning
the grill; Jay Sinclair for taking our spring photo.
