Cynnabar Baronial Meeting April 24th, 2025 - at 7:02 pm -14 in attendance
Announcements:
-
May 1st - the church is prepping for a garage sale. We do not have
access to use the main social hall. We can fight outside, or use the
conference room.

Their Excellencies request award Recs! There’s a lot of events in the
barony coming up and these would be helpful!

Golden Seamstress is this weekend!

A&S Survey has gone out. Please take some time to fill it out.

meetings.)

Daye is going to be stepping down sometime this year and would
like to find a replacement. If you are interested, please let
either her or
me know.
Events:
1.
Spring Revel (May 4th) - Simone
1.
Sign-up for the potluck was posted on Facebook.
2.
She also reposted the event schedule to the Facebook page.
3.
Will post again about the garage sale and more about the potluck.
4.
Their Excellencies are supplying some grill materials (charcoal, and
some meat like hamburgers and hotdogs). If you want to bring
anything else
to grill, please do.
5.
Daye will help photograph the event
1.
Waivers - if you haven’t filled out the photo waiver before,
please do so at the event.
2.
St. Cecilia at the Tower (June 14th) - Mieczko
1.
Proposal for Lunch/Dinner from Hannah (one of three meetings)
1.
Asking for $550 for both lunch and dinner
1.
Lunch: Service for approx 60 lunches at $7 (A la carte will
also be made available.)

Will also include all-day coffee/tea service
2.
Dinner: Service for approx 42 dinners at $12
2.
We will probably not do a Friday and/or Sunday session.

Concert and classes are coming together

Celtic Festival (July 11th and 12th) - Finn
1.
Communication between Finn and the liaison has commenced!

New spot this year - and better!
3.
Will we need food? Giovanna suggested that Finn bring a proposal.

Will need to find a way to go get the list on Friday and return on
Saturday. Can anyone assist with this? Need a full-size truck.

Grand Day of Tournaments (October 25 Monroe Fairgrounds) -
Gregoire/Giovanna
1.
Some discussion regarding site tokens and prizes for the tournaments.
2.
Looking for someone to help with food vendors.
3.
Looking for someone to assist with set-up and tear-down.
4.
Will be working on getting the insurance rider.
Officer’s Reports:
Seneschal - Report is in.
Exchequer - All monthly reports are completed and submitted to Kingdom.
Event waivers from Terpsichore has been submitted to Kingdom as required.
The Terpsichore event report is done. Event profit was $342.05. (not
including lunch tavern)
I’m investigating updating an Event Proposal form as there are items that
the official event report needs as part of the ‘event budget’ that do not
seem to be on currently submitted proposals. This should help both event
stewards in planning and keeping track of event finances.
Chatelaine - Had fun getting Ulfun’s family
Gold key went out and Gold Key is coming home.
Armored - No report
Rapier - Fencing continues with between 4-8 newer fencers, and 2-5
established fencers each practice.
A&S - Forester Dillon held an educational workshop on arrow repair.
I'd like to introduce a "Craft/Project of the Month" with a subjective
theme/topic as a casual way to inspire/encourage folks to work on crafts
and projects. (I'm happy to provide more info and would appreciate some
feedback, if any. Just let me know if there's a proper way to do this or if
it's entirely optional)
Herald -. I now have access to the OoP and am currently working on some
updates. I'd like to ask the members of the barony, when they get a chance,
to check out the OoP on the website and contact me privately with any
changes or corrections.
Social Media - Quarterly report completed. Planning on coming out with a
new handbook - but we are compliant at the moment.
Chronicler - 1) April CITADEL published on time. 2) 1st Q. report filed on
time. 3) I have finished my "Baronial History Through Words of Their
Excellencies" project, bringing the "published" history of Cynnabar to our
current Reign. I will be adding Officers Reports via month (cuml. by
quarter) to future issues.
Webminster - Yes there is a grid-style Google calendar now on the new (not
yet available to all) website! The bad news is it doesn't yet have any
events. Big thank you to Brighid of Red Spears for taking time away from
bringing up the Kingdom A&S Faire website to help me get this going.
Archery (vacant) - I anticipate that official practices will begin in mid
to late May. There is some interest among the "usual Sunday crowd" to
subscribe to a portajohn plan on our own this year. Lady Ilex currently
manages posting practice notifications for the UNofficial practices -- I
will likely take over for the Official practices when they start up. If
anyone knows of SCA people interested in archery practices, please send
them my way by any means -- PM, FB post, email.
Their Excellencies - We are still a Barony. Report was turned in.
Our next business meeting will be May 8th.
