with Beth or Hannah about the position if interested

NEW BUSINESS:
OLD BUSINESS:
Baronial Website
Aeffe (Baronial Webminster) joined us to bring updates about the refreshed
Baronial website. These include the following items:
-
Officers, please update your pages before the end of January. We would
like a state of modernity to the content that’s currently being shown.
Aeffe will be able to help if you need it.
-
If you want to get WordPress access to DIY, please reach out to her.
-
Please reach out to Aeffe to confirm you’ve looked at things
-
We are looking to going live on Feb.
Grand Day of Tournaments
Hannah has a proposal and the contract secured by Giovana to reserve the
date for the Monroe Co. Fairgrounds for October 24, 2026. There’s a $300
deposit to reserve the site for this date – it is non-refundable.
The payment needs to be made by Feb 5 to save that date. (Meeting 2 or 3-4)
-
At this time this is just a proposal to save this date - there’s no
event steward currently (if you are interested, please reach out to Hannah
or TEs)
-
Agreed again that the group is getting burned out on running events,
sites are hard to find, and, should we pass on this site, we might not be
able to hold the event.
-
Should we approve this deposit, what are the hard deadlines on which we
should decide a “go/no go” for this event?
-
For an event steward and marshal in charge, we determined we need to
know by first meeting in May for GDoT
-
Discussion around GDoT theme and whether we become a victim of our own
success by making it so great that we are having an issue getting people to
help work the event.
-
It was suggested that we hold a workshop/session about hosting events,
including GDoT and 12th night
EVENTS
MAKE A NOTE: Event Stewards are needed for upcoming events. Please reach
out to find out more information! (WILL TRAIN!)

OFFICER REPORTS
Seneschal
Limited on brain power at this time of year. My report was filed. Lots of
discussion around participant burnout – but we do have a lot of newcomers
attending things, which is great to see and offers good inspo on our “why”.
Exchequer
We have $15,468.97 in our account. The November report balanced fine and
was sent to Kingdom.
Thank you to those who have donated to the practice/meeting site this
year!!! We were just shy (roughly $150) of fully funding the rental through
“pass the hat” donations. THANK YOU FOR YOUR GENEROSITY
Thank you for those who helped review the proposed updated Event Proposal
template. Once published, it should help new and experienced Event Stewards
prepare event proposals for the Barony. Look for it in the New Year.
Changes are coming! The Society Exchequer just published a brand new update
with several changes to Society policy. I’m reviewing them and determining
how they will impact our group. While there are questions, I do like that
there is now more clarity around several of the rules with this update.
These new rules will go into effect on January 1st, 2026. I’d be happy to
discuss at length for those have any questions, But here are some
highlights:
-
Adds that all Exchequer deputies, including regalia ministers, inventory
officers, quartermasters, must be warranted.
-
Clarifies that Exchequer may appoint/remove all deputies
-
Clarifies that non‑members can receive complimentary passes, but must
still pay the NMS fee. Whereas 2022 policy prohibited complimentary passes
to non‑members entirely.
-
Trailers must be towed by paid members with a warrant as deputy of the
exchequer.
-
Church site donations total $2214. Of the $2400 per year. $372 was from
other fundraising opportunities

Social Media
No updates. Reports were files on time.
Chatelaine
While there is little to report this month on the Chatelaine front, it
seems likely that there will be more next month! Due to outreach at
Washtenaw Community College by Marco, we had three friendly new faces at
Wassail who've shown interest in seeing us regularly.
Excavation of the Chatelaine (Google) Drive revealed several useful
documents that can be revamped and shared for ease of reference/information
collection, so we're all able to connect with people more easily. I am also
working on the information to put on the new website and looking for a
headshot to make it easier to tell who I am for new people to spot.
Rapier Marshal
Baronial Rapier Marshal monthly report, December 18, 2025
Rapier Practice continues, attendance varies 3-10.
Q1 report is due February 1 covering November 2025-January 2026.
No incidents to report.
Knight Marshal
- We have had 4 people authorize this year to fight – 3 of which went to
Pennsic this year!
- 14 people, who hadn’t previously fought at all, learned from our group
- We have an average of 5-10 people who regularly show up for practice
(to fight) and just last week we had 14!
Their Excellencies
We are still a Barony!
Our next meeting will be held on Thursday, Jan 8
(Note there is no meeting or gathering on Thursday, Jan 1)
