?Greetings to the Barony! 

This weekend on May 4 is Cynnabar?s Spring Revel, to be held at Island Park, Shelter B. (1420 Island Dr, Ann Arbor)

The event will begin at noon. 
There will be armored and rapier fighting, a garage sale, and a family photo. 
Court is planned for 4, with potluck dinner to follow. We will be providing hamburgers and hotdogs, and grilling supplies so that anyone can grill their own food.

Greetings to the Barony!

We would like to thank everyone who braved the cold wet weather to
celebrate Spring Revel!
Thank you to Simone for stepping up as Event Steward, and Baron Finn and
Lord Ugrath for helping marshal so the armored fighters could practice
fighting in puddles, to Lady Daye for taking a new family photo, and Lord
Johannes for heralding Court for Us.
We were excited to give Lord Ugrath an Elephant's Heart.
We were able to thank Mistress Melisant for all the expertise and time she
has bestowed upon the Barony over the years with an Award of the Lamb,
crafted by Duchess Annemarie de Garmeaulx. We wish her all the best on her
family's new adventures; her presence will be sorely missed.
Baroness Jorun was recommended for a Silver Tower, which we were most
excited to give.
Sir Gregoire stepped down as Armored Champion, and His Excellency
Tairdelbach became our new Armored Champion.
Sir Gregoire also stepped down as the A&S Champion; We are most
appreciative that he was willing to take on both roles, and We thank him
for all his work and inspiration.

There were 9 new people who attended, and we hope to see more of them soon!
As always, the potluck was delicious; thanks Mistress Ulfrun for helping to
grill all the things.

Cynnabar Baronial Meeting May 15th, 2025 - at 7:00 pm - 11 in attendance

Announcements:

   Target archery should be starting up soon. For it to be an official SCA
   practice,  covered by SCA insurance,  it needs to have an MiC , and needs
   to be sponsored by a group,  meaning the seneschal needs to know,  and it
   needs to be advertised somewhere ( newsletter,  web page,  Facebook group,
   etc).
   -

      Porta-John will be back in June (cost covered by attendees)
      -

      If you want to participate in archery, reach out to Godhit.
      -

      Forester Dillon is also encouraging people to come out and do armored
      combat practice with combat archery.

   Pennsic - registration!  You have 1 month left to register!
   -

      If you?re camping with Cynnabar let Straum or Tygwin know.
      -

   Claire - Has a bunch of Medieval Art she would like to bring to find new
   homes for.

The next regularly scheduled Youth Combat practice will be Sunday, June 1, 2025.

Time:  1 - 5pm

Location:	Halmich Park
		3001 E 13 Mile Rd
		Warren, MI 48092

This is the same day/time/location as the Roaring Waste/Darkyard Fighter Practice and the Roaring Waste Baronial BBQ.

All are welcome. Loaner gear for all ages is available.

   Celtic Festival (July 11th and 12th) - Finn

      We will be up at the gate. Limited direct access for loading and
      unloading. You will need to move quickly and can?t be parked for
any given
      time and linger.
      2.

      Finn needs a marshal-in-charge for armored and rapier
      3.

      List field - talking about how to make the list field better - so
      there might be a painting party to paint the verticals with something to
      give them some friction.



   3.

   Grand Day of Tournaments (October 25 Monroe Fairgrounds) -
   Gregoire/Giovanna
   1.

      We need a list person for the rapier list.
      2.

      Need at least 4 heralds and several people on the armored list.

      There will be an afternoon salon in the middle of the day. Their
      Excellencies will preside over this.

Officer?s Reports

Seneschal - Corrections for St. Cecilia and Grand Day have been requested
to the Kingdom Calendar. Changeover underway - thank you all for making my

Exchequer -  Our current balance as end of April is $14,878.94. All our
currently required Kingdom reports are submitted. The financial book review
will take place after the business meeting on June 12th. Only the current
Financial Committee is required, but all are welcome to attend. The annual
Financial committee annual policy review will also take place on July 12th
(provided time, if needed, we can push this to the following week?s
post-meeting timeslot). Again, all are welcome to attend. Other items on
the Exchequer to-do list include, updating the Baronial Exchequer webpage,
and updating the Baronial Event Proposal template.

Chatelaine - Report was filed

MOAS - We had 3 people new to Scribing attend the Scribal Night this month
for a total of 5 in attendance! To my knowledge there were 3 blanks
submitted to HRM's Scroll Blank Challenge.

Armored -No report

Rapier - Various new fencers, a couple of them from Spring Revel, and a One
True Century (tm) Knight sharing insights and ramping up to re-authorize in
rapier. There is growing interest in pursuing cut and thrust as well.

Herald -. Still working on updating the order of precedence. Other than
that, not much else going on.

Social Media - Nothing new to Report.

Chronicler - Officer's report for Chronicler:

1) Pre-work has started on the July CITADEL.

2) I have updated the Cynnabar Chronicler's Handbook to include information
on required inclusions for local newsletters.

3) I have updated the Chronicler's Officers page on the Cynnabar website so
that all necessary information displays prominently.

4) I have tidied up the listing of CITADELS here (
https://www.cynnabar.org/citadel) and included a disclaimer that early
issues are not available via website. This conforms to the requirement that
only material with release forms specifically stating e-publication
permission can be available via web. (This was a long-standing matter.)

5) I anticipate stepping down as Chron. with the publication of the January
2026 (Domesday) CITADEL

Webminster - Quarterly report submitted on time; otherwise in a short
hiatus until after StC.  At that time I will begin the process of getting
the OP migrated.

Archery (vacant) - Practice starts on June

Their Excellencies - We are still a Barony! Thumbs up!
