[Cynnabar] Business Meeting Minutes for 5/15/2025

Cynnabar Baronial Meeting May 15th, 2025 - at 7:00 pm - 11 in attendance
Announcements:
-
Target archery should be starting up soon. For it to be an official SCA
practice, covered by SCA insurance, it needs to have an MiC , and needs
to be sponsored by a group, meaning the seneschal needs to know, and it
needs to be advertised somewhere ( newsletter, web page, Facebook group,
etc).

Porta-John will be back in June (cost covered by attendees)

If you want to participate in archery, reach out to Godhit.

Forester Dillon is also encouraging people to come out and do armored
combat practice with combat archery.

Pennsic - registration! You have 1 month left to register!

If you’re camping with Cynnabar let Straum or Tygwin know.

Claire - Has a bunch of Medieval Art she would like to bring to find new
homes for.

She will bring things next Thursday.

Donations ask - money to go to site rental

There will be a financial policy and book review in June (date tbd).

Hannah is interested in taking over as Seneschal (three of three
meetings.) - Approved

Jason posed some questions

Why are you doing this? - To serve the Barony

Why would you be good? - Leadership and organizational skills

How do you feel you will handle opposition? Openly and by
listening.

Finn - Do you have any plans to do anything differently with
the office of Seneschal? No.

As the Seneschal and the legal representative of the group -
are you willing to take on these responsibilities? She
will look more into
this.

Daye is going to be stepping down sometime this year and would
like to find a replacement. If you are interested, please let
either her or
me know.
Events:
1.
St. Cecilia at the Tower (June 14th) - Mieczko
1.
Money is needed for the cash boxes.
2.
Proposal for Lunch/Dinner from Hannah (three of three meetings) -
Approved
1.
Asking for $550 for both lunch and dinner
1.
Lunch: Service for approx 60 lunches at $7 (A la carte will
also be made available.)
1.
Will also include all-day coffee/tea service
2.
Dinner: Service for approx 42 dinners at $12
3.
Concert and classes are coming together!
4.
The Arbor Consort will be joining the event.
2.
Celtic Festival (July 11th and 12th) - Finn
1.
We will be in a new location - will be up by the front gate instead
of by the horse compost pile!
2.
Finn needs a marshal-in-charge for armored and rapier and also
someone to coordinate the A&S display.
3.
Will need to find a way to go get the list on Friday and return on
Saturday. Can anyone assist with this? Need a full-size truck.
4.
Next Tuesday (5/20) - the Saline Celtic Festival committee will be
doing a walk-through and Finn will be there. 6:30pm

Grand Day of Tournaments (October 25 Monroe Fairgrounds) -
Gregoire/Giovanna
1.
Not having any gambling this year.
2.
Wanda is going to be helping to arrange for the Crafter’s Green.
3.
We need a list person for the rapier list.
4.
Need at least 4 heralds and several people on the armored list.
Their Excellencies - Nada, nothing!
Our next business meeting will be May 22nd.
