[Cynnabar] Baronial Business Meeting Minutes for 5/29

Cynnabar Baronial Meeting May 29th, 2025 - at 7:00 pm - 11 in attendance

Announcements:

   -

   Pennsic - registration!  You have 2 weeks (or so) left to register!
   -

      If you’re camping with Cynnabar let Straum or Tygwin know. (
      Straum at comcast.net, Tigwyn at gmail.com)
      -

   There will be a financial policy and book review on June 12th after the
   meeting.
   -

   We will have an official archery practice Sunday, June 1st, 2-4pm. Those
   who have not attended before will need to contact me (Liz Calhoun ) or
   Dylan Dylan for directions.
   -

   Ulfrun has been selected to be on the A&S War Point team as a Laurel at
   Pennsic. (Monday)

         Daye is going to be stepping down sometime this year and would
         like to find a replacement. If you are interested, please let
either her or
         me know.

Events:


   1.

   St. Cecilia at the Tower (June 14th) - Mieczko
   1.

      The website has been updated. Finalizing concert and class list.
      2.

      There will be an afternoon salon in the middle of the day. Their
      Excellencies will preside over this.
      3.

      Her Excellency asked about making posters for the concert since it is
      open to the public.



   2.

   Celtic Festival (July 11th and 12th) - Finn
   1.

      We will be up at the gate. Limited direct access for loading and
      unloading. You will need to move quickly and can’t be parked for
any given
      time and linger.
      2.

      Finn needs a marshal-in-charge for armored.
      3.

      List field - talking about how to make the list field better - so
      there might be a painting party to paint the verticals with something to
      give them some friction.
      4.

      Ilse is going to be in-charge of Arts and Science and Throckmorton
      in-charge of rapier.
      5.

      Beth will help Finn create a Facebook page for the event.



   3.

   Grand Day of Tournaments (October 25 Monroe Fairgrounds) -
   Gregoire/Giovanna
   1.

      We need a list person for the rapier list.
      2.

      Need at least 6 heralds and several people on the armored list.



Officer’s Reports

Seneschal - Corrections for St. Cecilia and Grand Day have been requested
to the Kingdom Calendar. Changeover underway - thank you all for making my
years as Seneschal wonderful!

Exchequer -  Our current balance as end of April is $14,878.94. All our
currently required Kingdom reports are submitted. The financial book review
will take place after the business meeting on June 12th. Only the current
Financial Committee is required, but all are welcome to attend. The annual
Financial committee annual policy review will also take place on July 12th
(provided time, if needed, we can push this to the following week’s
post-meeting timeslot). Again, all are welcome to attend. Other items on
the Exchequer to-do list include, updating the Baronial Exchequer webpage,
and updating the Baronial Event Proposal template.

Chatelaine - Report was filed

MOAS - We had 3 people new to Scribing attend the Scribal Night this month
for a total of 5 in attendance! To my knowledge there were 3 blanks
submitted to HRM's Scroll Blank Challenge.

Armored -No report

Rapier - Various new fencers, a couple of them from Spring Revel, and a One
True Century (tm) Knight sharing insights and ramping up to re-authorize in
rapier. There is growing interest in pursuing cut and thrust as well.

Herald -. Still working on updating the order of precedence. Other than
that, not much else going on.

Social Media - Nothing new to Report.

Chronicler - Officer's report for Chronicler:

1) Pre-work has started on the July CITADEL.

2) I have updated the Cynnabar Chronicler's Handbook to include information
on required inclusions for local newsletters.

3) I have updated the Chronicler's Officers page on the Cynnabar website so
that all necessary information displays prominently.

4) I have tidied up the listing of CITADELS here (
https://www.cynnabar.org/citadel) and included a disclaimer that early
issues are not available via website. This conforms to the requirement that
only material with release forms specifically stating e-publication
permission can be available via web. (This was a long-standing matter.)

5) I anticipate stepping down as Chron. with the publication of the January
2026 (Domesday) CITADEL

Webminster - Quarterly report submitted on time; otherwise in a short
hiatus until after StC.  At that time I will begin the process of getting
the OP migrated.

Archery (vacant) - Practice starts on June

Their Excellencies - We are still a Barony! Thumbs up!

Our next business meeting will be June 12th.
