Regional Events
As we’d been approached about helping to host regional events – and we have
our own event to steward/co-host (Regional 12th Night 2027) this topic has
been of discussion for the past few weeks.
Final summary for this topic for now post Val Day workshop - just a recap
with these notes:
-
The purpose of working together is collaboration and assistance for each
other, so that we can see some of these larger events come back to our
region.
-
Each event would be solicited for help separately. There’s no “formula”
for a regionally led event. The event stewards of the “host” group would
reach out to leadership in each of the other Baronies to solicit help and
include a plan of how the work would be divided up for support. This will
likely be with “departments” to take on or a specific need (like a lunch
tavern). The plans would also include how the finances would work. Each
supporting Barony/Group would then decide if they would like to
participate/help.
Spring Revel Event - Sunday, April 26, Island Park Lead: Simone (Meeting 3
of 3)
-
The proposed total amount is $344 for this event
-
The goal is our small spring gathering and fun for everyone.
-
We would hold general revel activities like a potluck, martial
activities, and possibly a garage sale. We’d do the Baronial court and a
photo.
-
Marshals for the day will be Throckmortion and Ugrath
-
Other volunteers are welcome. Please reach out to Simone
-
We’d like to have a Pennsic workshop for newcomers
-
As a note, we need someone to be in charge of making sure ALL release
forms are completed to publish the Baronial photos
-
This event was approved!
Baronial Website
Aeffe (Baronial Webminster) reminds us again that the Baronial website's
refreshed look is coming soon!
-
The new site will go live Feb 28! On track to do it this weekend! 🙂
-
Communications about the new email list will be coming soon, as will the
calendar details
-
Update your bookmarks - the old site will rattle along until we schedule
the redirect.

OFFICER REPORTS
Seneschal (Hannah)
-
My report was filed with the Kingdom.
As a note, we did have a Kingdom Seneschal transition at Val Day.
-
Will look into scheduling an online officer retreat for late March-early
April
-
I’m super proud of the Barony’s activities for events – it’s noted that
for the first time in a very long while, we have the entire calendar year
mapped out with stewards and proposals for all our events for 2025
Exchequer (Finn)
-
The year-end Domesday report is in to the Kingdom. Our books balance,
and at the end of the year, we have $16,581.40 in our account.
-
We have a new Exchequer Deputy in the works. Announcement on who once
finalized.
-
As required by the Society and the Kingdom, we are doing a yearly budget
review. Information to be published after the meeting this month.
-
Pulling trailer update: I was able to get confirmation that those paid
members who want to help by pulling the Baronial trailer only need a normal
‘Deputy - Other Warrant’ and not the full ‘Financial Warrant’. This means
only our local Seneschal, Exchequer, and Baron/Baroness need to
sign/approve. It does not have to go to the Kingdom and Crown for signing.
This is great news.
Knight Marshal (Ugrath!)
-
No new authorizations (except secondary)
-
No injuries
-
Travelling armored combat to Fearanne Na Creache next week, Wednesday
(March 4th), Fencers welcome
-
Travelling armored combat to Red Spears as the church will be closed
(4/2). Fencers welcome
Rapier Marshal (Throckmorton)
Poking people as we are talking. No incidents.
We have been having visitors from Northwoods
MOAS (Wanda)
-
We had a Bycocket Salon hosted by Her Grace, AnneMarie! Two new
bycockets have entered the Midrealm.
-
Early plan stages for potential knife skill class, and machine sewing
101. Keep an eye out!
-
Reach out with ideas for workshop ideas or needs
Herald (Leopold)
-
He is working on reaccessing his email. No changes from last month's
report, but that may change once I am able to access my email account. A
message has been sent to the help desk.
-
If anyone needs help registering a badge, device, or name, I am willing
to set some time up. Please reach out
Chatelaine (Asa)
Not a ton to report. Two transplants from the SCA have come to join us –
welcome 🙂
Current plan is to review marketing materials. Getting things prepped for
the summer. Getting new website updated too. Good SCA generic things are
happening. 3rd Thuesdays seems to be bringing people together for crafting
for both new and existing members
Web Minister (Aeffe)
1.
I am finalizing the Google group for the new email list.
2.
Good news! Aaron was able to output the email archive as html and I have
it. It's full of personal names and email addresses so it can't be
published on the web; it will have to be accessed by request. I will work
out a way to grant access.
3.
Leopold and I are working on updating the new Order of Precedence. It
may not be totally up to date by March 1. I have transferred this and all
other documentation from my work Google Drive to the Webminister Google
Drive.
4.
Cutover: I plan to send an announcement to the Populace via the current
email list and Facebook (anyplace else?), giving the new website address
and the plans for the migration of email. The old site and email list may
still be available for a short period but new activity should be conducted
in the new environment as of Monday. So ... bid the old site a fond
farewell.
5.
The new site will probably have gaps and unfinished pages; I will be
working on this over the weekend and can be available to help any officer
whose page is still sparse. Now is the time to rescue any content on the
old site that you still want to use.
Social Media (Beth)
No report sent
Chronicler (Lambert)
Not much to report.
Please send items for the April newsletter — please send by March 15th
deadline!
Excellencies (Bjarki)
-
Terp 30 is coming up – and in 2 years we will be celebrating 30 years as
a Barony! Is there something we’d like to do to celebrate that?! (June
2028) Last time we celebrated, 40 years of being a “group” (which was 20 as
a Shire and 20 as a Barony!) How do we want to celebrate? Reach out with
ideas
-
Award recs – Terp, St. C….and Kingdom award rec’d
