An event can be designed to have $X site fee, compensate Y people and still make a profit. Can that profit be bigger if the Y people were not compensated? Sure. This is not necessarily the case. It may be in some situations, but I don’t think it’s the case with Terp. If Terp makes a ton of money, and the autocrat decides to propose an event budget that will net a lower profit to either help everyone out or to draw more people, and the group agrees, we’re good. I don’t think any is suggesting we raise the site fee just to compensate the musicians.
