I'm forwarding this message to the Cynnabar dance email group, since I know there are others who likely have more resources on this topic than I do.

Hola,
I hail from Rimsholt, but have enjoyed the company of many from Cynnabar.  I am currently involved heavily with school in my mundane life, so I rarely get to participate.  However, I am slowly working on my "rebirth" back into more SCA activity when this is over in a few years.  That will include more music from me.  Specifically, I want to make better use of my cello, and my recently purchased viola.

I have contacted you because I intend to amass a large folio of sheet music that I will be able to sight read at a moment's notice for medieval dancers, bardic circles, revels, etc.  Many people have a few favorites, that they have well rehearsed and can play/sing by heart.  Rather than a few well rehearsed favorites, I want to develop a
repertoire of MANY songs that I can instantly sight read with the aid of sheet music.  Part of my plan also includes acquiring music software that will enable me to notate, transcribe, and print sheet music for my purposes.  If it please you, I would greatly appreciate anything you might suggest and share with me.  What do you all like to dance to?  What bardic favorites might I offer to accompany?  Please send me any song titles, MIDI files, MP3 or WAV files, sheet music images, etc.  Anything that might enrich the music at our events.  I will put it all into a huge computer file that I will eventually work into sheet music that I can bring to events.  I have worked on drumming in recent years, but intend to make better use of my melody instruments.  My goal with all this is that people could say "Hey Juan!  Grab your cello.  We
want to dance to the blah-blah-blah!"  (or whatever).

Right now, the two events I attend most regularly are Border War and Siege of Talonval.  When I am done with school, I hope to start attending more.  So please, send me whatever you have.  I will work on it between now and my grand "rebirth".  More music is coming your way.  You have my word!

Yours in service,
Don Juan Diego de Belmonte
