Announcements

 

Pennsic
The deadline to pre-register to camp with the Barony of Cynnabar is June 1.  Contact Sir Straum for details.

 

Saline Celtic Fest
The annual Saline Celtic Fest is Sat, July 17.

 

Archery Practice
Practice is now on Wednesdays starting at 5:30p until dark at Dillon's home- 330 West Clark road, Ypsilanti, MI 48198.
 

 

EVENTS

 

Brewer's Guild

This enjoyable event included delicious new samplings from a new member.  

 

Champion's Revel

Baron Tairdelbach reports that even though the day was cold and wet many fighters attended to take part in the tourney.  The Barony congratulates the winners-  Lady Azriel is the new fencing champion.  Master Midair is the new Armored Champion.

 

Afterward many went to Mongolion Barbecue for dinner.

 

 

Nicola's Demo

The demo was well-attended by the Barony. Everyone was friendly, helpful and informative.  The audience was small but very interested.

 

 

 

Old Business

 

 

Ypsilanti Heritage Festival

The event is Aug 20-22.  A booth is $85.00 total for all three days.  Application deadline is July 15.  Space has been requested to set-up a number of period tents and a list field.  The Chatelaine is waiting for a response.

 

Thrones

The deadline for Throne proposals is the first business meeting in May.  The Baron says that this proposal could include a design for building new thrones, or a plan to repair the current thrones or ideas on which new thrones to purchase.

 

Fun Run
Registration before Aug 31 is $13/person. Event is Oct 2-3.  Sign-up is on an individual basis. Contact Galen for more info.

 

Grand Tourney

No new information.

 

Sound System

A new policy for usage is being formulated


12th Night Site

A comparison was made of the Dixboro Methodist Church and St Paul United Church of Christ in Saline.  The Dixboro Church has more room for classes, feast, Royalty Room, parking and ease of movement through the space.  The cost is $300/St Paul; $700/Dixboro.  A decision will be made soon.  A point by point comparison will be resent to the list in separate documents.


Sun Shade

Sir Straum is satisfied with the proposal that the Barony will purchase his sun shade for $500.00.  This purchase will include the canvas, the center pole and any poles he does not need for his other tent. 


Gold Key

The cataloguing continues.

 

Investiture

Vincent reports that the event made a profit of approximately $700.00  A final report with be forthcoming.

 

Chronicler

We need a new chronicler.  Our current officer, Ysendra de Craig will be leaving the area in three months. If anyone is interested please contact her.


 

New Business

 

Slide Show

The Chatelaine would like to create a slide show (running on a computer) to be used at recruiting events. I would appreciate any photographs from events that would be helpful to newcomers.  Please send them to- chatelaine at cynnabar.org.  Also, lf anyone is interested in working on this project with Amyon, please contact her.

 

Newcomers

Several newcomers attended the Champion's Revel on Sunday. The Erickson family and Lenadams Dorris. Everyone came in garb.  The Barony is glad to have you.
