I am a librarian with the Wayne Public Library. This summer we are hosting a
traveling exhibition by the National Library of Medicine titled “Harry
Potter’s World: Renaissance Science, Magic, and Medicine.” In conjunction
with the exhibition, Associate Professor Eric Ash of Wayne State University;
a historian in Tudor and Renaissance England, will host a presentation on
the occult sciences in Renaissance England. Professor Ash will also explore
the connection between renaissance England and the Harry Potter novels and
the Lord of the Rings trilogy. The presentation will be on August 4, 6:30
p.m. at the Wayne Public Library, Wayne, MI. I’m hoping that you could
possibly post the flyer; which I have attached, or send it on to interested
parties.
