[Cynnabar] Weekly meeting minutes for 11/21/11

Here is last week's "weekly meeting minutes" for 11/21/11, just in time for
tonight's meeting. 

Announcements:

- Mistress Claire is looking for possible sites for next fall RUM. Sites
should be able to support at least 10 classrooms. Any suggestions of
possible sites please see contact Mistress Claire.

- His Grace, Dag is missing his Alfredo sauce. A search party has been
initiated. 

- THERE WILL BE NO DECEMBER 26th MEETING.

- Cynnabar's Holiday Gift Exchange! We will have a gift exchange this year.
As part of (or instead of possibly) the Dec. 19th meeting, we will have our
holiday gift exchange. Please bring a new, wrapped present of about $10
worth for the exchange fun. More details coming soon.

Old Business:

Grand Tournament (Dec. 3rd) -

Website and prize lists are updated. See Mistress Claire if you are
interested in helping with the heavy tourney lists. See Mistress Milisant if
you are interested in helping with the rapier tourney lists. 

Wassail (Dec 17th) -

A Day as St. Catherine's Cloister - Demystifying A&S Competitions (Feb. 4th)

St. Ceclia at the Tower (May 12th) - 

Nothing new to report.

Local event resource book project -

On version 4.0 of the form. Could move to beta testing with the idea of
having previous Event Stewards use/review the form. See Mistress Claire for
questions/info or volunteering to help.

Collegium workshops -

Mini shield making workshop was good.

This week is bookbinding (on Wed 11/23) and Sunday (the 27th) is award
tokens.

Gold Key -

Sorting was completed. Bad/unsalvageable stuff was pitched. A selection of
good items to fit a variety of people were kept and will be the new gold key
(about 12 outfits plus accessories. The rest that were in the middle will be
set for the yard sale at Wassail. Next steps will be to sort thru the feast
gear and accessories and will include banners and serving tabards. NO MORE
GOLD KEY IS NEEDED right now. 

Phonebook -
ETA is this should be completed by Wassail

Citadel -
ETA is this should be completed by this weekend.

New Business

New Fencing Gear Budget Proposal - 

A proposal for the Barony to purchase two new kid-sized fencing masks for
$170 ($85 each) +shipping has been made. The purpose is so that if there are
interested youth fencers we would have the equipment ready and available for
them to use/try. We already have some youth blades so those would not be
needed. These masks will also be steel, so smaller adult fencers would be
able to use them as well for adult fencing if needed. 

Alfredo Sauce -
The search party has returned and Sir Dag's missing Alfredo sauce has been
found.

A new Fencing/Dancing practice night - 

Thursdays from 7-9 PM at Pierpont Commons is set to begin in January. More
info to come soon.

Boy Scout Demo (Dec 12th) - 

We are doing a small fighter demo at a Boy Scout meeting on Dec. 12th. We
are all set.

Ann Arbor Christian School demo (Dec. 8th) - 

Ann Arbor Christian School requested a demo Dec. 8th from 7:00-9:00 PM
looking for carolers and fighters (2 fencers, 2 heavy). School is at 5500
Whitmore Lake Rd, Ann Arbor, MI 48105. Contact Lady Jadwiga to volunteer.

Nicola's Wrapping and Donation fundraiser - 

We can volunteer to wrap gifts at Nicola's and possibly receive donations
for doing so. See Lady Amyon's e-mail for more details or contact her
directly. 

New Youth Gear investigation - 

Investigation for new loaner gear for youth combat was brought up. We would
need to understand what our group would need in the way of people (with
proper background checks) as well as equipment needed in order to be able to
offer youth combat at our practices. Investigation continues.

Officer Repots (normally done on 4th Tuesday of each month, done early this
month)

Exchequer -
Reports are into the regional.

Webminister (reported via e-mail) -
No report

Fencing Marshal (reported via e-mail) -
There continues to be fencing. There was a broken blade but everything is
OK.

MoAS-
No report. 

Chatelaine -
No report

Chronicler -
Citadel due out by this weekend.

Herald -
No report

Knight Marshal -
No report

Seneschal -

Is working on getting a small set of people to help with the "comp-ing
people at our events" guideline wording. Once complete, it will be reviewed
at a meeting.

Baron and Baroness -
Please send in your award recommendations to both their Excellencies and
their Majesties.

We are still a Barony.

Midar is officially out of pie. It is now a crisis.
