[Cynnabar] Mass Meeting question

Hi everyone - Thanks for bringing up Mass Meeting again!

After the discussion at yesterday's meeting, I think it would probably work
best if we did not schedule fighting during Mass Meeting. It can get very
loud and distracting, and may be difficult to schedule with the station-type
set-up we will be using. What I would like to do is something that His
Grace Dag suggested, which is utilize videos/AV in order to show visitors
some of what SCA armored and rapier combat is all about. It will also be a
good way of explaining Pennsic (which I think is very difficult in just
words!!).

If you are a fighter, and are available - I would like to have a station
which can include armor, swords, fencing gear - and of course the fun
stories and experiences of our fighters! We can also have a few laptops
(Gregoire stated he might be able to put together a "movie" to show).

In terms of other areas at Mass Meeting, if there are projects, crafts, or
other work that you would like to showcase and you think that would get
newcomers interested - please let me know. My plan is to have several
stations throughout the room for such things as fiber arts, costuming,
illumination, SCA history and membership, etc.

Please let me know off-list if you have concerns with this and we can talk
about it more.

Yours,
Giovanna
