[Cynnabar] Weekly meeting minutes for 03/19/12 meeting

Event and Demo Reports:

Garb work day - heavily attended. Lots of work done. There will most likely
be a follow up work day before Terp (which is before the next scheduled garb
work day) to finish up the baldrics.

Gulf Wars - Cynnabar's own Lady Azriel won the women's fencing tournament
and others from the Mid made good showings as well.

Upcoming Baronial Events and Demos

Armored Fighter Retreat (April 6th -8th) - New date set. HE is sending out
e-mail notices to the armored fighters with more details.

Terpsichore (April 14th) -

Check with Anne about Iron Peeps (I think we have 4 teams). Aelfric is
putting out the call for gate staff. Otherwise nothing new. 

Online pre-reg for the A&S Fair was not working at time of meeting. If it is
not fixed a work around will be put in place.

Spring Revel (April 29th) -

We will be doing our Baronial photo. Please come in garb. More info on the
Baronial championships coming soon.

St. Ceclia at the Tower (May 12th) - 

Last week, it was discussed and confirmed that garb will only be strongly
encouraged during the day and gold-key will be available. In the evening
garb will be required but "lightly enforced". The regional seneschal was
there during this discussion and agreed to this so all is good.

Celtic Festival (July 14th) - 

No new news.

Grand Tourney 2012 Proposal - (Johannes)

This was the second discussion of the new proposal for the event. Johannes
had a new proposal budget worksheet and it's set for $1850. The event site
will be the Washtenaw Farm Council Fairgrounds and the date will be Nov.
3rd. The 3/26 meeting will be the 3rd discussion to approve the
event/budget.

Old Business

New Choir Heraldic Accoutrements -.

Lots of work accomplished at the garb work day. Look for next help
announcement soon.

Chatelaine Position - 

Genoveva was approved to be the new Baronial Chatelaine at the previous
meeting. They are planning on making the changeover at Terp.

Baronial Ballista plans - 

No new news

Fixing loaner leg armor proposal -

No new news

SCA Anniversary event in 2016 - 

No new news. Requested more details from Lew and waiting on feedback.

Tithing to the Kingdom - (meeting minutes reminder/placeholder only)

The previously group-approved amount of $300 to their Highness's travel fund
will be presented at Crown in Kentucky in May. This line item will remain as
a meeting note but not brought up during the meeting proper unless someone
has a question/comment on it. This is just a reminder until we are able to
present this in May.

New Business

Kingdom Reports.

All the reports are done, except the one for Fiber Faire. Waiting on a
couple of details before submitting.

New Baronial/SCA business card

Genoveva requested $15 for paper to make up to 1500 "business" cards. She
had some examples at the meeting. They are very nicely done that can be used
to give out to people that have the SCA, Midrealm and SCADemo website
information on them along with a brief summary of the SCA. Both his Grace
Dag as well as His Excellency Tairdelbach said they could very much use
these cards by the upcoming weekend. So considering it is less than $50 and
no one at the meeting objected, we used the "Seneschal discretionary fund
approval" and approved up to $15 be spent on paper to make the cards. I
would like to point out that Genoveva is planning on using the ink from her
laser printer herself and not seeking reimbursement for that. Thanks
Genoveva!

Announcements:

Crown will still be at the Drawbridge Inn in Kentucky. The purchase of the
site has been settled and the new owners plan to keep everything as is with
current contracts and are planning on renovating the site as well. 

Archery Practice - Lady Godaeth and Milady Aeffe are planning to become
Archery MITs and would like to be considered as possible Cynnabar group
archery marshals. More research is needed to determine what is the proper
setup/process for this.
