Event and Demo Reports

 

Vikings Come Home - About 10 Cynnabar folks went to the event. Beautiful
day. Good archery. Good fighting. Forrester Grey even brought some thrown
weapons setup for folks to have fun. And our own Gregor won the double bear
pit tournament! 

 

Northfest Demo - Done on UoM campus. Lots of fliers were passed out and we
collected lots of names of those that may be interested.

 

 

Upcoming Baronial Events and Demos

 

Mass Meeting (Thursday September 19th, 2013) - Will be from 6:PM to 10:PM.
Please wear garb.

 

Closing the Range (Sunday, Oct. 13th, 2013) - Various shoots are being
finalized. Things are coming along nicely.

 

Ale to the Victors (Oct. 26th weekend) - This is the return of the "medieval
tailgate" event hosted by Northwoods with our beloved Cynnabar as their
competition. While we are not hosting, this is a big participation event by
us. So we will put this on our upcoming events list to encourage
participation by all! This is a fun event. 

 

Fencing Demo - There will be a fencing demo on Sunday Oct 27th from noon -
3:PM at the Ann Arbor District library. It is a focused fencing only demo. 

 

Grand Day of Tournaments (Nov. 16th) - Planning meeting last week. Lots
done. Things moving ahead nicely. Godaeth would like to point out that
Genoveva has done an awesome job with the website. Also of note, we have
permission for drinks and light snacks in the gym now (but not full meals).

 

12th night 2014 (Jan. 4th, 2014) - No updates

 

Terpsichore 20 (March 29th, 2014) - No updates

 

St. Cecilia (May 9th-10th, 2014) - No updates

 

Old Business

 

Event Proposal - Wassail! (Dec. 14th) - This was our 2st discussion of our 3
meeting discussion/approval process. Proposal is for spending up to $450 for
paying for site and some fudge amount. The event will be at the Chelsea
Community Fair  Grounds (same site as last year). No concerns brought up.

 

New Group Fencing Marshal - This was our 2st discussion of our 3 meeting
discussion/approval process. William has thrown his hat in the ring to
become Cynnabar's next Group Fencing Marshal to take over from Galen who is
pregnant. Everyone at the meeting seemed fine with William as candidate. If
you have questions for William concerning him becoming the next GFM, please
come to the next meeting and ask! 

 

 

UoM Student group/recruiting - As this will be an ongoing effort, we will
keep this on our meeting discussion agenda for the foreseeable future.

 

New Business

 

Budget line item - $25 reimbursement for UoM fee for having table at
Northfest - The University charges $25 for having a table at Northfest. This
was paid out of pocket by Gregor and Genoveva. We are looking to reimburse
them the funds. The only open question is can the group reimburse funds
without a receipt. We will ask our Exchequer about this. Other than that, no
concerns were raised.

 

 

Announcements

 

-          Next Saturday is Rose Tourney. Our own Lady Arin is going to be
elevated to Laurel. 

-          Forrester Grey is putting orders into Three Rivers for archery
equipment and he is also putting in an order at Nobel Plastics for lamellar
plates if anyone is interested in either.

-          Forrester Grey is going to Day of Archery if anyone is insterted
in going along.

-          Also at Day of Archery, there will be many interesting classes to
attend to, including those by our own Forrester Grey and Forrester Padhrig.
