 20161212 Barony of Cynnabar Business Meeting Notes

Center Room, Pierpont Commons.  Workshops 6:30 to 7:15. _*9*_ attendees

Meeting 7:30- 8:30. _10_ attendees.

January 23, Book Club will be *Hilde *by Nicola Griffith. About Saint Hilda
of Whitby as a young woman.

Ermenrich and Kasha reported that the teacher organizer was very grateful
for our presence. The singers, dancers and combatants who came to the
evening made a good impression on the students it seems.

Remarks from those who attended: Well organized.  Beautiful room. Fire was
great (and greatly praised.) Hannah said many people stayed, danced,
socialized after dinner.

What could be improved?  Auction did not attract lots of people.  Maybe 30%
were paying attention.  But others used the time between court and dinner
to dish up food, make final preparations. $200 was raised for the Royal
Travel Fund.  For a fund-raiser next year plan to organize a Baronial
matching fund. Pledge for example “up to $500” through the 3 meeting
process.  Also, set a minimum bid.  The bakers will each know what
materials cost. That would be a good minimum.

Loss:  $15.24.

Attendance:  66 sign ins on waiver.  Estimated head count was closer to 85
or 90. And this year Ms. Claire kept the table and asked people sign the
waiver.

*KINGDOM 12th Night Jan 7, 2017. THL Ceara *Hidden Springs Church,
Howell *Budget
$2700* Breakeven: 170(approx)

The event is coming together. See Website for updates.  Pre-reg for the
Feast is happening.

This event takes the entire Barony working together.  Please plan to work 2
to 4 hours at 12th night. If you did not get to sign up for shifts at
Wassail the link to the volunteer site will be on Facebook and a link
emailed to Barony at Cynnabar. (and it was! Kay)

Save the retainer shifts for our guests who wish to assist, says Baroness
Kasha, and THL Ceara. Lady Simone is managing Retainer sign up.

Ceara will NOT be at the 12/19 meeting.

4.      Deputy Seneschal (Drop Dead) – This can be a track to becoming the
next Seneschal, too.  That post will open up in Spring or Summer 2017.

*Grey wants to make a waist quiver for the Baronial Archery Champion
regalia and is seeking a leather worker to take on the project. *

*December Schedule *

·         We will need to have all business for 12th night done by Dec 19th.
NOTE that the University is closed after 12/23.  We will not be able to use
Pierpont on 12/26.

·         *Annual Cynnabar Gift exchange. Date? Site? Organizer? *

o   Is anyone planning to run this activity?  I will be driving home from
Virginia, most likely.

o   January 2 is STILL the best plan. Any night but Monday sets up
conflicts with other Cynnabar activities.

o   Godaeth reports BelMar Lanes has a party room.  Food would have to be
ordered from their restaurant

o   Please report any possible sites for this gathering!

Carolers are going caroling Wed 12/15 at Glacier Hills.  1 hour 6:15 to
about 7:30.
