[Cynnabar] Meeting minutes 8/25/2022

Cynnabar Baronial Meeting   25 August 2022  in person, outside, ~25  in
attendance at  7pm
Presided over (and minutes) by Giovanna

*Announcements:*

·         As of this time, the Middle Kingdom does *not* require masking
when indoors. Masking is now a personal decision.

*New Business:*

1.         Discussion and voting session 1 of 3 for Mistress Giovanna to
become next Cynnabar Seneschal.

·         For - 22

·         Opposed – 1 (Gregoire)

·         Abstained/Didn’t Vote – Several but I’m not sure they were
listening.



2.         Planning for Terpsichore 2023 – Eliza

·         Looking at March 25 or April 15

·         Talking to the church

·         Proposal forthcoming!



*Old Business**: *

1.       Their Royal Majesties need award tokens.   After discussion, it
was agreed to select a date and set up an A&S craft night to make some as a
Baronial A&S activity. Please talk to Ulfren with ideas.

*Next week come and help out get these finished and then they will get
delivered to the Royalty.*



2.       Grand Day of Tournaments update (Diamante):  Proposal was submitted

·         Monroe County Fairgrounds

·         Still 11/19 – it is available and they are holding it for us for
that date for 30 days

·         Same activities as we’ve had before

·         Rental $3000 – building (Event Total would be $4000 which was the
approved budget)

·         Can we have fighter food with any Covid restrictions ?

                                                               i.      Or
lunch tavern? - Would have to have health department approval

                                                             ii.      Can
we use any outdoor space?  - Diamante will look into this

                                                            iii.      We
will move forward with this and get the advertisement into The Pale – *NOTE:
Pale ad and addition to the MK calendar have been requested.*



3.       Fall Revel:  (HE Olafr) Haven’t heard back from the potential site
(Milan Senior Center)

4.       Wassail:  Milan Senior Center may have few dates available on a
Saturday. His Excellency Olafr is looking into this.



*Officer reports:*

*Exchequer:*   (Diamante):    July report is in!

*Chatelaine:*   (Ceara)   Newcomers are participating! She would also like
to step down by Fall Revel so if you are interested in serving as
Chatelaine, please let her know.

*Armored*:   (Jorun):  Still looking for someone to be the “official”
deputy – please talk to Jorun if you are interested. Would like to step
down in the next year.

*Rapier*:  (Throckmorton):  No official deputy, but Birke has stepped up to
help with advertising. Some practices at Island Park on non-meeting nights.
We will be back at the church in the Winter or with bad weather.

*Arts & Sciences*:  (Ulfrun):  Cynnabar had a great showing at Pennsic in
the A&S Display and the Green. Still trying to do at least one A&S class a
month. Also looking to step down in the near future, but does have two
deputies.

*Herald:*  (Aesa):   nothing new to report.

*Social Media:*  (Valka):   Quarterly report was turned in before Pennsic.
Will also be helping to post rapier info to assist with practice notices.

*Chronicler: * (Gabriella)   Please forward any content for next Citadel
via the official email.

*Webminster**: * no report

* Archery**: * No report

*Seneschal:  *Nezkha would like to step down and is planning to do this at Fall
Revel. Giovanna has volunteered; voting has started.

*Their Excellencies**:  *Cynnabar is back – it feels like we are getting
geared back up and running! Lots of people interested in going back to
events. Sad that they were not be able to participate at Pennsic. Would
like to see everyone at Vikings Go Home. Very full Fall schedule – Harvest
Days (elevations).

They are updating the Baronial progress and would like to hear more about
what events that you’ve been to.

*The next business meeting* will be Thursday, 8 September  at 7 pm in
person at the Milan site, outside if weather permits.

The business meeting after that will be Thursday, 22 September at 7pm in
person at the Milan site, outside if weather permits.
