[Cynnabar] Meeting minutes, 10 February 2022

Cynnabar Baronial Meeting   10 February 2022  via zoom    7:30pm,  15 in
attendance (+3 pets)

Attending: Hannah, Tairdelbach, TE Malachy & Olafr, Valka, Throckmorton,
Jorun, Diamante, Ceara, Leopold, Jason, Ulfrun, Straum (+Snowy), Beth
(+Sofie), Leia (+Gingersnap)

*Reminder to MUTE, please unless you have a point to bring up; or please
raise your hand. REMINDER – we have 40 minutes before Zoom will cut us
off!!!! *

*New Business**: *

1.       Decide if we are ready to resume in-person practices and
gatherings, or to continue virtually for another month.

TEs presented current data and reported COVID rates for Michigan and the
local county. Propose that we wait about two more weeks before we start up
in person again as a safety precaution. Our group marshals, Throckmorton
and Jorun, concurred and were comfortable with the idea of pausing for a
couple more weeks before starting up. Populace in attendance also agreed.
We discussed starting up at the beginning of March – which is 3 weeks, to
give a little more buffer, and….well, that’s just easier to remember.
*IN PERSON WILL START – Thursday, March 3rd* *(or First Thursday in March)
for rapier/armored practice, and social gathering.*

Ø  A reminder that it is still current SCA rules that all people must
present a vax card + picture ID, or a negative COVID Test + picture ID
*AND* that any person indoors should wear a mask

Ø  Valka (SMO) will make a post about in person activities starting up
again so people can mark their calendars.



2.       *Helmet liners *–(Jorun) would like to use armored marshal’s
office budget to get helmet liner for the loaner helms. Exchequer will get
with Jorun to verify $$ to spend. If it’s not in line, Jorun will present a
proposal to the group. She would also like to help others to upgrade their
own helmets if they’d like. (Per her post on Facebook)



*Old Business**: * We need someone willing to plan and host Spring Revel, a
traditionally outdoor event, goal of late April.  Please contact Nezkha or
TE Malachy and Olafr’ if you are interested.



*Officer reports:*

*Exchequer:*   (Diamante)  Domesday report in. She is working to correct an
issue that was called out.  Working on her training classes. We currently
have about $11K in the bank.

*Chatelaine:*   (Ceara)  Not too much to update since last month. Report
was filed.  Making use of tic-toc videos for recruiting. If there are
questions or interest in helping out with those, please let her know.

*Armored*:   *(*Jorun)  Other than meeting up again and her proposed
padding for loaner helms (new business) nothing new to report.

*Rapier*:  (Throckmorton)  Quarterly report submitted. Covered November
where there was fencing. There hasn’t been fencing since then, so nothing
new to report.

*Arts & Sciences*:  (Ulfrun)  Still working on the A&S details she’s
presented last month last month. Report due in March.

*Herald:*  (Aesa) no report

*Social Media:*  (Valka) The awesome Lady Beth has made her officer
transition process great. Finding everything easily in the Google drive and
is still helping out to field some questions. Valka is teaming with Ceara
to help with TicToc recruitment videos.

*Chronicler: *   (Gabriela) Citadel was published in January to the website.

*Archery**: * *no officer, no report

*Webminster: * no report



*Their Excellencies:*

Ø  Enjoyed the fireside chat with Their Majesties where they were invited
with other landed Cornets to join the panel. You can re-watch it on YouTube
if you missed it.

Ø  There’s an archery event this coming weekend through RW (See the MK site
or Pentamere FB) They do not plan on attending

Ø  Looking forward to seeing people in person!!!

Ø  M. will get with Leia to ask about Church Wifi. (Likely not until after
the start of the month to connect with each other)



*The next business meeting*  is  Thursday March 10 at 7:30pm   in person



*ANNOUNCEMENTS:*
*Preregistration is open for Pennsic!*
Please email Straum (Camp Land Agent) if you plan to camp and register. If
you have never camped with the group before – please email him in advance
of registering. Straum expressed the safety some of the cleanliness aspects
of the Baronial camp. Their Excellencies are excited about being able to
attend as Barons.
