I like the idea of opening sometime between 1 and 2pm.

That being said, I also recognize that many will want to cook their  
contributions during the afternoon and bring them hot.
Hmmm, is there a solution? I like hot food. Hmmmmm, would stove and  
oven facilities be made available for reheating? (and electricity for  
crockpots is usually no problem).

And then there is the old Swedish smoergoesboard of cold foods...
