As Finn mentioned, there really isn't enough time to figure out all the
nuances, if it were possible at all (to get feedback from each group,
know who is under and over, etc.). After the fact the Kingdom Exchequer
will have a summary of what was expected and how much was sent in from
each group.

Still, I like to keep things simple, and because we are doing well, I
think our group should rise to the call and donate generously, hence the
$1,200 based on 2011 finances and not the smaller amount based on 2010.

And while I understand Randy's analysis (they ask for "x", let's give
them "x" and decide later if more is needed), in this case I don't agree
with him. We should do more.

My heart swells when I hear what other groups are doing. Drachenwald,
which does not have to give anything, has already sent 18% of their
Kingdom funds (not much, the SCA population there is very small, but
still, amazing). The Board of SCA Ltd (Australia), Committee of SCA NZ
Inc (New Zealand), and the Kingdom of Lochac are looking right now to
see how they can help.

The East Kingdom has enough funds to pay for everything their Kingdom
owes themselves, and are looking into getting additional funds to help
other Kingdoms that may come up short.

Collection areas are being set up at Val Day, along with potential fund
raising activities. It has literally brought me some tears of joy
thinking of the SCA coming together for this.

I want Cynnabar to be a part of this, and not just do the bare minimum.
