[Cynnabar] BoC - Settlement funding discussion

I'm good with keeping it simple as well. I just want to make certain that if we give over the amount required that we are doing so out of generosity of spirit rather than to address a problem that may not even exist.

Personally, I feel that while it would be great to try to figure out
where/how our generosity could go directly to other groups that may need the
help and/or not be able to support the 18%, the logistics of trying to do
that considering the timeframe is untenable.

I prefer to keep this simple. Let's determine if Cynnabar is willing to
support the settlement debt of the SCA. Period. Anything else, helping other
groups, fundraising to replenish Cynnabar coffers and/or Kingdom coffers,
helping other groups, should be done as a separate initiative and NOT
(directly) tied into the funds we need to hand over on Saturday.

A somewhat orthogonal question/observation, since I know we have Kingdom
level people on list.

give additional money on this premise, I would like to see that need
confirmed. Perhaps we could do some quick checking with some of the other
groups. If we find that our neighbors are going to come up short, then would
it be possible to make a contribution directly to them or pay what they can
not?

If the real problem people are concerned about is whether or not some
groups would be driven into a tight financial situation, perhaps a solution
is a regional or kingdom level pool for bootstrapping events. While I only
had the finances of Hawkland Moor to use as a point of comparison, the group
for the most part needed relatively small amounts of cash for non-events.
Most of the cash was dedicated toward boostrapping costs for an event and
needed to cover cases where turnout was much lower than expected.

Has any such thing been considered?
