[Cynnabar] BoC - Settlement funding discussion

Having reread the thread, the question being asked is "Is Cynnabar the
kind of group that gives only the minimum required or is it the kind
of group that gives generously when there is a time of need?"

I think this is the wrong question.

The question should be, "How can we do the most good?"

So far the best reason I've seen for giving more immediately has been
from Midair

"There will be more legal fees as they try to get the other insurance
companies to pay."

And

"The reason for forgoing the discussion period is because the SCA has to
acquire the funds in 10 days (not sure if that is calendar or work days
... sorry). So more money helps ease the strain on Kingdom when they
have to pay their invoice from Corporate."

and from Finn:

"The Crown has said that those who can give more, may do so."
Indicating that giving above and beyond would be a reasonable thing to
do.

So a few questions,

1) Has kingdom officially asked that groups immediately give above and
beyond if they're capable?
2) How much more value would giving now be over giving in a month?
3) What damage would we be doing by waiting?

The main reason I'd prefer to wait is that I'd like to see where our
surplus money could be best used. We need more information than can be
given over the internet within a week. I'd prefer waiting until the
dust settles a bit.
