[Cynnabar] This whole settlement discussion

Well met, all!
As someone who's been unable to make it to meetings or events, (well, aside from Pennsic!), I've been 

reluctant to offer an opinion, but thought I'd share my thoughts anyway.  Take them for what it's worth...

As I see it, EVERY group in the SCA is being asked to contribute SOMETHING, correct?
Have we heard back OFFICIALLY from the Royalty just how much we need and when we need to do it?
If we have, GREAT - send it on!
If we haven't, my opinion is to wait until the official word is given and THEN give generously.
If we have it to give above and beyond what we're asked to give, it helps everyone, right?  (It also doesn't hurt OUR reputation as the wonderful Barony we are!).
I say, "Give what we can and let's get back to having FUN!"

YMMV...and probably does!

I want to take a moment to personally thank everyone for contributing to the settlement conversation. Everyone’s opinion is needed and valued. While in the end, there may be some that will not fully agree with each other, everyone has been civil and most importantly caring enough about our Barony and the SCA to take time out of their day and provide their input into this subject.
 
So thank you again to all for letting us know what you think and how you feel about this. 
 
When it comes time to make the decision on how best to proceed forward as a group, I will do my best to put the Seneschal Finn hat firmly on my head (and put the populace Finn hat away) and help guide the group’s decision based on the feedback from everyone and what is the right thing to do as a whole.
