Milady Ceara,

I like your idea of a scrapbook per se. I think it is really cool when
I get to look at pictures of "the old days" and show friends what we
were doing back then and compare to now, or to just reminisce. There
is actually an SCA historian office, though I don't believe we have
such an office currently in Cynnabar (do we?). I think the closest
thing is the chronicler theoretically keeping records.

Well, I had a friend who was an avid scrapbooker. He had the
28" (about that anyway) kind and he had about 30 of them. They took a
large amount of space in his home because he kept them accessible.
Then he met a gal in England and hired me to digitize them so he could
take it with him. It was like trying to digitize Godzilla. When it was
done the stack of CDs was about 5" high.

The thing I learned was that digital takes up WAY LESS space than a
physical scrapbook, and if you want as as much info as you are going
for, it is going to be hard to deal with physically. Whereas if you go
digital, then you can make it instantly accessible to anybody.

Lastly, another lesson I learned was that the SCA is positively
draconian about getting signed permissions from everybody who goes
into something official. This means it would be almost impossible to
use your photos for any "official" SCA or Cynnabar publication, and a
publication can be a one-of item. So I would suggest never letting it
be an official thing owned by the SCA.
