[Cynnabar] BoC Meeting MInutes for 02/25/13 meeting

".what's that? ..No..no one will ever know these things are behind. I'll
just quietly put them out on the list when no one is looking. Heck, most
people probably don't even remember I still owe them the officer report
minutes from January's officer report night. Wait, what? This thing's
on?!?!".

 

Er, um. Good people of the Barony, here are the other set of meeting minutes
from the 2/25 meeting where 16 people of note and notoriety were in
attendance.

Event and Demo Reports

 

 

Candlemass - Duke Sir Brannos won (again)

Pentamere Academy of Defense - Well attended. Long day but good.

Month end tourneys - Jasen Irenfist won the armored but gave is spot to
Uillic. Tomas won the fencing side.

Garb Day - Sparsely attended but productive

 

Upcoming Baronial Events and Demos

 

Terpsichore (April. 6th, 2013)  - Music practice is happening

 

St. Cecilia at the Tower Event (May 18th, 2013) - Things are moving along

 

Spring Revel (April 28th Sunday) - There will be one. If you have any
questions about becoming a Baronial Champion, please ask their Excellencies.


 

Grand Tournament (Nov. 16th) - Application to site. Apply for insurance
next. Planning meeting in March to be scheduled.

 

12th night 2014 (Jan. 4th, 2014) - No new news

 

 

Old Business

 

St. Cecilia Lunch Tavern Budget Proposal: 3rd discussion of our 3 meeting
discussion/approval process. This will be to approve/support budget at $150
for lunch. Costs will be $5/person and break even at 30 people. No issues or
concerns. Item passed.

 

St. Cecilia Dinner Tavern Budget Proposal: 3rd discussion of our 3 meeting
discussion/approval process. This will be to approve/support budget at $200
for dinner. Costs will be $8/person and break even at 25 people. No issues
or concerns. Item passed.

 

Donation to Kelsey Museum - 2rd discussion of our 3 meeting
discussion/approval process. This will be to approve/support a $250 donation
to the Kelsey Museum as gratitude for all the great things they do and the
warmth and helpfulness they have shown Cynnabar during past visits. Every
still agrees this is a good idea as they go above and beyond and we want to
give back. As donors to the museum can specify a particularly area that we
can donate to, it was thought that we should just note it as "greatest need"
and let the museum decide where the funds should to to.

 

UoM Student group/recruiting - As this will be an ongoing effort, we will
keep this on our meeting discussion agenda for the foreseeable future.

 

 

New Business

 

Kingdom Exchequer inventory reporting must be filed with each report. Due to
this a few things need to happen. The list of Cynnabar stuff at Pennsic
needs to be transferred to "Cynnabar Camp" for bookkeeping. Vince will send
list out to the various groups/officers within the Barony to update with
Baronial owned equipment (loaner gear, serving tabards, etc) and get back to
him.

 

Announcements

 

Forrester Gray - Thrown weapons practice postponed

His Excellency T. - Fighters Retreat end of March 29th/30th 

Her Excellency H. - Non-fighters retreat (Lady's Day) March 30. The Baroness
has a project she wishes to work on.

Forrester Gray - Is putting in an order for throwing knives, etc. If
interested in getting in on the order, see him.

Soshanna - Hosting a Sater on March 25 and the Barony is invited.

Their Excellencies - Is having a meeting with the camp people for the Barony
to discuss Pennsic this upcoming year.   

 

 

Officer Repots (normally done on 4th Tuesday of each month)

 

Exchequer (Vincent) - We have money and are in good financial position.
Reports have been filed.

Webminister (Aaron) - 

 

Fencing Marshal (Galen) - February good. Johannes is now a marshal and we
now have three in Cynnabar. Met nice people at Val day who then came to our
practice. We received an invite to "This Land is Ours" event on April 20th.

MoAS (Arin) - 

Mo Youth (Ceara) - First quarterly report is done. We have kids. New kid
activities being researched, like origami (which is period).

Chatelaine (Genoveva) - 

Chronicler (Ermenrich) -

 

Herald (Simcha) - Next week is heralds night (3/4). If interested in the
Herald's office, please see Simcha. SUBMIT!

 

Knight Marshal (Jason) - 

 

Archery Marshal (Godaeth) - Baronial Archery website part revised and
updated. Range not quite open, look for opening event sometime soon. May
have St. Patrick's day theme shoot that weekend. New Kingdom newsletter for
archery called "Quivers and Quarrels". April 27th is It Takes my Child event
will have lots of fun shoots planned. Developing a fun exhibition for
Baronial Boarder Wars event June 15th. Having thrown weapons practice, it's
fun! First quarter report is due March 1st. 

 

Seneschal (Finn) - First quarter report is in. Seneschal's office now
reports on quarter basis (instead of trimester) to be in line with Society
reporting structure. 

 

Baron and Baroness (Hanna and Tairdelbach) - Can use award recommendations
for Terp and Spring Revel. They will be sending an e-mail out about being a
Baronial Champion. Favor discussion continues for Baronial favors. Past 6
months we have received lots of complements on how much a community the
Barony is. Very busy summer season coming up. We are still a Barony.
