[Cynnabar] BoC Meeting Minutes 2/16/15 meeting

Ah
a Sunday evening and what better way to end a weekend than by curling up
with a nice glass of your favorite beverage and reading the Baronial meeting
minutes. I’m sure after all these years the Sunday evening meeting minutes
and agenda have become a tradition to you, much like it as to me! So enjoy
my good people. And keep warm.

Event and Demo Reports

Val Day – Lower turnout due to the weather. Johannes authorized armored
combat sword and shield, congratulations! Nice event. Cynnabar got 2nd place
in the Scroll Blank Challenge this year, missed by ½ a point. 

Upcoming Baronial Events and Demos

Fighters Retreat (Feb. 28th, 2015) – Nothing new. If coming on Saturday for
the discussion, aim for 10:AM. 

Terpsichore at the Tower (Mar. 7th, 2015) – Need help with setup on Friday
at 7:PM. Also need cleanup people for Saturday evening. Classes hopefully
finalized by this Friday. Everything else going good.

St. Cecilia at the Tower (April 24th - 26th, 2015) – Class confirmation sent
out to the teachers. 

Spring Crown Tournament (May 23rd and 24th, 2015) – Adding thrown weapons to
the mix!

Old Business

Event: Spring Revel (Sunday April 12th. $250 budget) – Baroness Kasha
proposed a $250 budget is for covering site (including alcohol license),
children supplies, potluck supplies and incidentals. This is the 3rd of our
3 meeting discussion/approval process. No issues or concerns. APPROVED! 

Event: Grand Day of Tournaments (Saturday November 7th, 2015. $1980 budget)
– Proposal from Agnoletta and Johannesas event stewards. Back at Liberty
School again.  A question on if the school is reserved on this date for us
or are we waiting approval. Also, the group does seem to want to have the
key/major staff positions lined up before approving this event. This is the
2nd of our 3 meeting discussion/approval process.

Lunch Tavern for St. Cecilia at the Tower ($400 budget) – Mistress Arina
brought forth a nicely written proposal for one of her (now famous!) lunch
taverns. $400 budget with a break-even of 40 people. This is the 2nd of our
3 meeting discussion/approval process. No issues or concerns.

Budget item: List upgrades ($400 budget) – Baroness Giovanna on behalf of
Sir Gregoire is asking for $400 to make additional sections and improvements
to the Baronial list field. This will allow for five 21’x21’ lists to be
setup at the same time. This is the 2nd of our 3 meeting discussion/approval
process. Targeting to be ready by Crown. No issues or concerns.

Budget item: Fabric for making new fighter tabards ($250 budget) – Baroness
Kasha is asking for $250 to buy fabric to make new fighter tabards as the
Barony is almost out. She will be coordinating workshops to get them made as
well. This is the 2nd of our 3 meeting discussion/approval process. No
issues or concerns.

New group officer: Seneschal - Mistress Kay – Mistress Kay as generously put
her name in the hat to become Cynnabar’s next Baronial Seneschal. This is
the 2nd of our 3 meeting discussion/approval process. Questions were asked
to Mistress Kay and answered satisfactorily to all in attendance. Everyone
still good.

New Business

Demo: Penguicon (April 25th or 26th, 2015) – Request for the Barony to
support the fencing demo at Penguicon again this year. It was a big hit last
year and the fencers would like to do it again. It is acknowledged that it
is on the same weekend on St. Cecilia, but there is support for the fencing
demo outside our group as well so there should be enough to support both St.
Cecilia and the fencing demo at the same time. Also, the fencing demo will
most likely be schedule for a Sunday time slot, interfering even less with
the main St. Cecilia day. This is the 1st of our 3 meeting
discussion/approval process.

Group Discussion

If Exchequer is in the house: How to properly fund/pay for Baronial
t-shirts.

Announcements

We had leather kid belt blanks donated for youth activities for Crown. 

Viking archery has great prices on throwing axes!
